[Listen] Drake drops 2nd ‘Take Care’ single “Make Me Proud” feat Nicki Minaj
After wisely pushing his sophomore album, Take Care, back to November, Drake has finally gone and dropped the second official single from the record, “Make Me Proud”.
The bangin’ midtempo features Drizzy’s cohort Nicki Minaj, and was produced by T-Minus, who helmed Lil’ Wayne’s superb “She Will” and Nicki’s most tolerable single to date, “Moment 4 Life”.
Drake’s “Headlines” was a nice warmup single, but “Make Me Proud” is the real deal.
Over a booming, midtempo knock that’s undeniably similar to “She Will”, Degrassi dropout Drake shows off his soft side with this supportive ode to the ladies. Nicki Minaj — who I normally can’t stand — swoops in with a killer verse, namedropping Dolly Parton’s double D’s and switching from rapping to singing to keep up with Drake’s constant balancing act between Hip-Hop and R&B.

According to Rap-Up, Drake will perform the new single on SNL this weekend — the same day that it hits iTunes.
