Leona Lewis suffers the sophomore slump and 50 Cent flops on the Billboard charts

50 Cent’s new album Before I Self Destruct has disappointed in this weeks Billboard charts, only managing to sell 160k to debut at #5.

The sales are a far cry from the rappers glory days when his last album Curtis sold 691k in it’s first week back in 2007.

Also set for chart shame is Leona Lewis, who won’t be too happy when she see’s that her sophomore album Echo has only sold 67k, completely missing the top ten at #13.

One person that’ll be be in a good mood this week though is John Mayer who’s topped the charts for the second time in his career with his album Battle Studies selling 285k.

Meanwhile HDD have released their official predictions for next week, indicating that Rihanna may just sell more than the pitiful 162k that was prediected for her by Billboard Biz.

Susan Boyle – 600k +

Adam Lambert – 210-230k

Lady GaGa – 180-200k

Rihanna – 180-200k

Shakira – 80-90k

Jay Sean – 30-35k

I guess Rihanna’s one dollar downloads are paying off. As for Leona, girlfriend better get it together or Echo will be finished before it’s even started.

Congratulations to John Mayer though because Battle Studies is a great album and deserves to be #1.

    Looks like both Mariah and Rihanna will just about scrape into the top 15 this week.

    There’s life outside the USA. If you combine UK and US sales Leona will outsell Rihanna, 50 Cent, Morah and Mariah.

    dammit! how someone can buy an “album” with just 8 tracks that’s is a waste of money and a commercial trap, adam album is good so don’t surprise, as you say rihanna’s album is gettin affected by the one dollar sells…that’s sad cuz her album is good, sad for my shaki her album is the best and whatever for jay JAJAJAJA, and susan well she have better voice than anyone in the list…but I don’t into her but good for her, she is not a “bitch” just for win agains gaga or rihanna cuz I think she have more talent than they and you say that because gaga or rihanna i predict.
    I have no surprise for john’s album is amazing, I mean his first album was commercial friendly-good, his seconds was just good, and his third very soulful and grammy caller…but a little bit boring and his new album is all his albums combined a hundred times better, sad for leona I like echo like 6 or 8 tracks is not that bad…and norah change from jazz/soul to pop/soul is good i like her album too.

    Gaga will sell more than 200,000. It sucks that the Deluxe version of The Fame monster is being counted with The Fame, while the 8 single album is counted seperately. All together she will sell over 300k in the US. The number 2 spot belongs to her lol

    Meh it’s not like they won’t have a big rerelease of Leona’s album come American Idol time anyways. She is J Records biggest selling current artist next to Alicia Keys… Simon and Clive won’t let Leona fail, trust me. Plus she released it at a bad time considering there were so many other established names and debuting artists coming out that day. They should have released it earlier this month or in Mid-December. And they only have one single out when she should already be going on her third one.

    PS – Echo is a great album idk wat your talking about! “Alive”, “Broken”, “Naked”, “Stone Heart & Hand Grenades”, “I Got You” are allll GREAT tracks! and Leona sounded great so stop hating on her! I think mainly it’s because this POP stuff is really in this year. No ballads and stuff… But shes great!
