Leona Lewis scores Golden Globe nomination for best Celine Dion impersonation

Celine Dion Leona Lewis has just released the video for her new single “I See You”, which is taken from the soundtrack to the new James Cameron film Avatar.

Is it just me or does anybody else have a burning desire to NOT watch this movie? James has done some good movies in his time (Terminator 2) but the thought of having to sit through Avatar just makes me want to pull my hair out.

In other news Le-Lew has just scored a Golden Globe nomination for “I See You” in the Best Original Song/Motion Picture category. As Rosci would say — “That’s a good look!”

Thanks to Toyaz-World for this info.

2 weeks ago I would’ve said that I’d rather die than see “avatar,” but it’s getting rave reviews, and the oscar game is my thing (even though they’re foolish), so I’ll probably end up seeing it.

I hate the Oscars with a passion! Usually if a movie is nominated I know to avoid it! Not always but it’s been getting worse in recent years.

I haven’t watched the vid yet because the song will knock me out to sleep until 6am but the movie looks like good x-mas entertainment, can’t wait to see it.

Sorry Proph, usually agree with you, but I can’t wait to see Avatar. I’ve been waiting for months. James Cameron always makes great films…he’s one of the few in the business whose films I would pay to see even without a trailer, hype or reviews. Also, I think the Oscars have been getting a lot better in recent years. They’ve been more diverse in nominations and have been open to actors and films who don’t fit “the norm” Hollywood standard.

Now as for Leona, I’m indifferent to her and this song she’s nominated for. Anything will pale in comparison to Celine’s iconic Titanic theme, and Leona isn’t hitting as close to home for me. If the song wins, it’ll be more for production and writing than it is for Leona’s coma-inducing vocals.

    @proph

I’m more interested in the acting categories than best picture, etc.

I don’t pay too much attention to movies but looking at oscar blogs lets me know where I can see some (probably) good performances

This brings up a good topic, what kind of movie goer is proph?
If you had to choose one, would you rather watch there will be blood or meet the spartans?

    Can’t wait to see it…

avatar scores a nod for best motion picture in a drama, critics love it too! so i have the feeling that the movie is a great and yes i am going to watch this weekend…….terminator wasnt a great movie but its an entertaining one..

I’m glad Le-Lew is getting acclaim… I’m just very picky with movies and I think Oscars/Grammy are all bullshit. They usually award super mainstream films that are thinly disguised as something substantial when it’s all just rubbish.

yo..didn’t the world just HATE this chick last year…and almost drove her insane???? I thought they were gonna drive her to Suicide…and now she’s acting as if..they didn’t hate her yesterday….she needs to just stop it, and get herself together..Mariah hasn’t been the same since her breakdown…AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SEEING THIS? LOL.

  13. Erica Says:

WOW…THIS IS REFERRING TO BRITNEY SPEARS…WRONG POST!!

  14. Tohamy Says:

last year winner was slumdog millionaire, it wasnt produced by any major film outfit, matter of fact it was l an indie film and yet it was the runaway winner which the movie deserved. oscar pick the best movie compare to grammy.
