Lana Del Rey Unveils “Burning Desire,” Video for Jaguar, Remains Classy and Glamorous

Lana Del Rey Burning Desire Jaguar

Most celebrities need to release budget fragrances, short-lived clothing lines, or just shamelessly hock soft drink brands to make a little extra cash on the side. Lana Del Rey, on the other hand, gets to partner with luxury brands like Jaguar.

Is your fave jealous? Pressed? Suicidal? Probably.

Del Slay promotes the world’s most prestigious automobile in a new music video/commercial for her sultry Paradise bonus track, “Burning Desire.” The clip sees Lana performing on stage in a venue that could easily pass for Club Silencio from David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive. Considering that she previously performed “Blue Velvet” in her H&M tie-in video, the Lynch reference could certainly be intentional, and not just a coincidence.

By the way, for those wanting a sales update on Born to Die and Paradise, it’s now topped 3.2 million worldwide.

All the cool kids keep telling me to hate her, but IDGAF: I wanna live in Lana Del Rey’s world.

With the vintage clips, fast cuts of driving, black and white filters, and LDR doing what she does best in front of the microphone, it’s kind of amazing that she can still rehash concepts yet keep it a little fresh at the same time. That Dalai Lana Del Slay REIGN~

  • mergong

She moves! Dalai Lana needs to get down more, she might need to take notes from the always sultry Jessie Ware on that department

  • Andrew

how many times she will use the same motif? booooring. Jessie Ware>>>>Lama

  • Sean

I was initially a hater but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Paradise edition of her album. The bonus cuts and other tracks that didn’t make the debut SLAY. She won me at “Blue Jeans” from the original but “Ride” transformed me into an undercover stan. This is my first public declaration of loving Ms Del Rey.

Ironically, I played this song 3 times today on my way home 20 mins ago until I logged onto my computer to see there’s a video for this song. Haha. Coincidence.

  • Blah

pure sex. i can’t even think right.

  • theprophetblog

Jessie and Lana are both flawless

  • theprophetblog

I was kind of the same. I was one of the first pop blogs to post Lana when Video Games was just first gaining buzz in the early stages of its viral life, and I was stanning for her hardcore by the time the iconic Blue Jeans dropped. But the Born to Die album as a whole was disappointing and too poppy and glossy, making me question my stanning for her, but she made up for it and then some with the fucking flawless Paradise EP which was the Lana I was expecting from when I first heard Video Games and Blue Jeans

  • iAmAwesome

She exudes sex in the rarest ways.

  • iAmAwesome

That Jessie girl seems like the Christina to Lana’s Britney. #No1Curr

  • Sean

Yup! Wonder what her next album will sound like. Interesting how she’s more popular overseas than she is in the US. 3.2 million worldwide for a debut is NOT BAD in 2013.

Idc what people say… Lana Del Rey is fucking flawless. What ever she’s missing here or there in her music, she makes up with that epic attitude. ‘Paradise’ has been on repeat for me since November. GaGa, Beyonce, Britney, Katy, Rihanna and the rest of the top 40 ladies could NEVER.

    That is all.

  • http://www.twitter.com/themusicprophet iHateThisBlog

Both are flawless. Lana was 2012′s news… If Jessie keeps conjuring up the blog hits, she’ll be the talk of Tumblr in 2013

Hey Proph, I know it’s out of topic, but I wanna ask something. Whenever I click on your “Older Entries” at the very bottom of your page to see things that I might havent read, it always shows your older posts like Cheryl Cole, Keri Hilson that you posted in December. Im pretty sure that there are a lot of things that you’ve posted after Cheryl Cole news. Whats wrong with it? By the way thank you for posting some new-&-random artists again. I thought you stopped posting them long time ago. It really makes your blog more interesting.

Ugh I know with the older entries! It’s so fucked. I’ve had somebody looking into fix it and she still doesn’t know what’s causing it. And the weird thing is that it doesn’t happen to everybody, it only happens to certain people.

And yeah, I’ve started doing new artists again. I got really fed up with blogging stuff so I basically only just posted the K-pop I wanted to do, and then posted all the generic shit that people asked for which is why I was always so negative about a lot of those big British/American pop stars coz I didn’t care about them and just posted them to appease people. Now I’m getting back to posting the music I actually like, more than I did before, and not doing as much top forty. I’m doing it because I’m relaunching the site in the future with a new name and everything, so just starting with the new direction now so it isn’t as jarring when I relaunch the entire thing with a new direction that better reflects my true taste in music. Glad you like the new artist posts. I don’t really care if everyone stops reading my blog when I relaunch, I’d rather just write for a handful of people who are more on the same page as I am.

  • HarlemShake

IKR “How could you like this plastic surgery addict whose image is
obviously made by some record company?” But the thing is the music
touches me and “Born to DIe” accompanied my life so well (and still does), it’s easily the best album to have come in
    this decade for me.

  • TLo

Sorry I wrote the same exact post three times lol. It was error when I tried to post it. Didnt mean to spam.
Well, If you’re gonna relaunch your site as a brand new one, I really appreciate it, but hmmm, I’m really gonna miss this blog lol. Could you please keep your old vibe, at least sum of it, in your new direction? That way you will keep your old readers and get new readers.

  • ARTPOP

    How boring and basic

  • TyTy389

Well you know I will follow you wherever you go! :D You’ve been my music guide since high school and that isn’t going to change any time soon.

  • Alex

I’ve gotten to know so many great artists by coming to your blog, so you relaunching and showing us stuff that you like and that we may not know won’t deter me! You’ll just be weeding out the weak, haha.

First paragraph gives me life and everything else. So funny.

  • Andrew

don’t get me wrong, I like Lama, but how many times one could recycle the same idea for a video? Is she going the same path like Justin T, who is recycling the same Timbaland’s beats?

  • Guest

    btw this gif>>>>life lol

Oh of course. It’ll still be ME, the new look and new name is more just to solidify a new start and for people to leave if they can’t handle to see any K/J-pop or Western artists that aren’t extrenely top forty 24/7. I will still cover mainstream pop of course, and bash bey, and do all that, but the mainstream pop will be dialed down a bit so I can focus on more new artists and less known pop acts. And overall the site will still be pop direction, it won’t be an indie rock site or anything haha. It’ll be a lot like how it;s been the past couple of weeks, just with a new name and a new look.

I like Lana’s music and I own Born to Die and play it all the time, but I’m starting to wondering how she’s going to have any longevity because her persona is so specific that she can only do this vintage inspired music that deals with the same themes over and over: Hopeless Romanticism, Femme Fatale, talking about her sugar daddy, etc. I can see her sophomore album being successful, but by the time her third album comes around, people may be tired of it and wanting something different. I feel like her record company only thought about the short term when they came up with her persona and neglected to think about the long term. I’ll probably like her as long as she has great songs, but I question how long she can be commercially successful for.

I feel the same way; I could care less what she does to her body, or about the life she leads, but her music does something to my soul that few artists can accomplish.

Please tell me you’re gonna review the ghettotastic “Scream & Shout” video though????

  • http://twitter.com/_DATBOYLUKE_ Luke

yeah nobody cared about Christina…. except the millions who bought her music.

  • iAmAwesome

At least you know how to use past tense. ;)
