Lana Del Rey signs to Interscope Records

Interscope are fast becoming my new favorite record label!

I’ve grown to love playing the ‘Spot the Beats by Dre’ game in all Interscope music videos, they just signed the flawless Girls’ Generation earlier this month, and now they’ve followed up by scoring the world’s favorite new songstress, Lana Del Rey.

According to Billboard (Via Pitchfork), Del Rey is Interscope’s newest signee, and the label will release her ‘first’ album early next year. Her new single “Born to Die” is due to premiere next month, and a music video has already been shot with Yoann Lemoine, who helmed Katy Perry’s brilliant “Teenage Dream” visual, Taylor Swift’s “Back to December”, and Yelle’s “Ce Jeu”.

Del Rey recently released her first single “Video Games” around the globe, which went top ten in the UK and charted well across Europe. She also recently took home Q’s Next Big Thing award, being out the likes of Frank Ocean and Emeli Sande.

At this rate, Del Rey is going to be the biggest female breakout star of 2011. GaGa, Ke$ha, Lana!

I was thinking the same thing…in any case I like her. Hopefully she’ll have even more success with Interscope’s backing.

“At this rate, Del Rey is going to be the biggest female breakout star of 2011!”

Somewhere out there, Jessie J  is frowning and making funny noises/faces thinking “Oyyyyyy! That shud av been maaay!!!!!”

And how Interscope NOT be EVERYONE’s favorite label??? They’re the only ones who know how to have more than 1 successful artist at a time!
Remember when they completely DOMINATED 2006-2007 with Nelly Furtado, Mary J Blige, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Timbaland, PCD, M.I.A, and Feist???
Those were the years that made me such a music fan!

For some unknown reason I can’t even get myself to listen to her music. Actually, I did, about two months ago, and her music was just blah.
