Lana Del Rey confirms ‘Born to Die: Paradise Edition’ for November

After shifting two million copies of her debut album Born to Die, Lana Del Rey is preparing to re-release the album right in time for the holiday spending season.

Due November, the ‘Paradise Edition‘ of Born to Die will contain a whopping seven new songs. The Dalai Lana is calling it the official ‘afterthought’ or ‘”after-world” of Born to Die, which in her words means that it’ll probably be an EP thingy, similar to Cannibal and The Fame Monster (but don’t quote me on that!).

Del Slay has been performing a new song called “Body Electric” during her live shows lately, so I’m going to make an education guess and say that it’ll end up on the Paradise Edition. I wouldn’t mind seeing her seriously badass collaboration with rapper A$AP Rocky “Ridin” on there either!

I don’t even like Born to Die that much overall, but I’m still excited for this. I want an overpriced deluxe edition with a bunch of vintage Polaroid photos and other Del Slay trinkets!

Am I the only one that thinks that if an artist is gonna re release the album with another 7 tracks why not just record annother 4 or 5 and release a new album…
I love “BTD” but this is such a cash in, hate that…

  • joeysauer

Just more National Anthem’s will do. ;)

I think it’s going to be released as an EP. It wouldn’t make sense to re-release Born To Die and add seven songs to it. Usually when artists decide to re-release albums, it would only include two songs. I was planning on getting the album. It’s not a bad album.

Born to Die is a FLAWLESS album.

i can’t believe you don’t like it. the only flaw is that it can be a bit too amazing for some people (resulting in people incorrectly calling it over-produced), which in itself is a testament to how great it is!

Yeah, I felt the same way, but it’s just a good way to keep the artist relevant, without as much risk of flopping.
With Re-releases, EPs, and Greatest Hits the expectations are lower and are rarely looked at as flops cuz no one expects em to sell 500k the first week. But with an album, that thing will be pushed-out till God-knows-when if they don’t get a top 20 hit or don’t feel like the albums gonna debut HUGE.

  • SerferTJ

I finally checked out the album after I feel in love with Cheryl’s “Ghetto Baby”, and it’s soooooo good!!! “Dark Paradise” + “Off To The Races”>>>>>>>>>>>> life.
I’m just blown I bought the album 2 weeks ago, and now I’m probly gonna have to buy the re-relase too. haha!

  • theprophetblog

It’s just a bit too pop and glossy for me, and SOME of the lyrics can be a bit corny. I wish her stuff was a bit more raw and indie, but I guess that isn’t what she’s going for.

Anyway Video Games and Blue Jeans are completely 10/10.

  • theprophetblog

Yeah but it’ll probably be sold both as an EP and as a 2-disc package like Cannibal and Fame Monster were

You wanna an answer, money money and money

  • http://twitter.com/StopItLuke Luke

Well if she releases it as an EP that’s cook but I’m not buying the whole thing again just to get the EP lol…
And yeah I get you but it can get to an embarrassing point like Katy Perry still promoting technically the same album like 3 years later… sometimes you need to just take the step and take a risk.

BTD had 4 really good songs and the rest were nice but nothing special. at least all the songs sounded cohesive together and the album as a whole was a win.
born, national, summertime, dark. those were the good ones for me. even blue and video didnt keep me interested overtime.
