Lady GaGa the motorcycle unveils ‘Born this Way’ album cover

Not long after premiering her new single “Judas”, Lady GaGa has dropped another surprise by unveiling the official artwork for her upcoming sophomore album Born this Way.

I think it’s AWESOME!

GaGa has managed to surprise the public again, this time by completely bypassing every single thing that you thought her album cover was going to look like, and going and doing the exact opposite. It’s a fabulous satirical homage to the album art of 80′s era hair metal, and the over the top kitsch factor with the cheap font and badly photo-shopped motorcycle is a total riot. I can’t even remember the last time I saw an album cover that was actually this fun.

You’ll be able to pick up Born this Way on May 23rd.

Until then, you can check out GaGa’s new single “Judas” below. The song is already #1 on iTunes, despite not even being out for a day. I’ll have an official review up for it some time this weekend.

    People get over it, it’s not about the cover. Blackout had a horrible cover and yet the music still shits on what people release these days. It’s about the music anyway!

    What the Hell is this cover?
    & the Judas song is… meh.
    This is so all over the place with Born This Way theme (Motorcycle, Unicorn, Spikey bone, Lucifer-Judas, etc). her stans could remain her in top spot, but wait.. until they realize (read: grow up) what kinda artist they invest their money on. Transformer did it best anyway.

    she’s unbearably annoying right now, the cover is unexpected, it’s okay. but obviously a fail attempt at being fierce….looks like a joke to me and more laughable than being awesome to me.

    I find it funny that you went out of your way to type a dislike post about “Femme Fatales” album cover/font but you love this piece of crap? What is going on in your head Prophet…

    Gaga was good for her first album.. after Bad Romance hit the airwaves she became a stuck up person who is only getting worse. Makes me sick that she takes herself so seriously.

    I hate how people say “This cover is garbage. Period.” Well that’s clearly only your opinion. So don’t just blatantly label it garbage. Saying you don’t like it is enough.

    As for me, when I initially saw it I was like…. “Uhh… wow?…”

    But then I went and listened to Judas while looking at the cover, and I kind of got it. I bet the cover will go hand in hand with the music of this era, because both the song and the cover give off that edgy, quirky, “different” feeling.

    The cover is not afraid of being different rather than just displaying a pretty girl with make-up on posing in some random way. This cover grabs attention, it makes you think a bit. It may not be my favorite cover of hers, but it’s interesting. So I say thank you to Lady Gaga for making the world a little more interesting in a world full of things we’ve all seen/heard before.

    Also, people who say she’s a “flop” or “unoriginal” are talking out their asses. Really. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s a “flop” (have you seen her sales?) or “unoriginal” (you could compare anything to anything nowadays, no one is 100% original anymore). It just means she’s not your cup of tea. Period. End of story.

    When I first saw this I was WTFing all over the place, but I’m actually starting to love(?) it. No one was expecting this at all. At least Gaga did something different than the head shot every else has been doing (Britney, Rhianna, Jessie J, Ke$ha, and even Gaga’s other albums). Like Prophet said, I love how it’s an homage to album art of 80′s era hair metal (let’s not forget Gaga used to have roots in rock music). And with all the dark undertones of her songs lately, this is just pure fun. People need to chill the f*** out, the font is obviously supposed to look cheap.
    While everyone else is shitting a brick over this era, I’m oddly starting to kind of love it. (let me clear something up, I am NOT a Gaga stan.) I love how “Judas” is a cluster f*** of over the top noises. It reminds me of Sleigh Bells (the band)….like if you threw Sleigh Bells, some old rock music, and Bad Romance into a blender you might just get Judas. At least Gaga is bringing something different to this dance music era thats going on right now with her music lately. Maybe everyone is reluctant to like the Born This Way era because the music so far, even though it takes obvious references (from Madonna, to Gaga’s own Bad Romance), it still sounds so different than what’s happening in the music scene right now, and people just aren’t ready. But then again, I could be totally wrong, and just have strange taste in music, but I’m ready to accept that.

    I understand your point..the cheap look might actually be deliberate..but it could’ve been done in a cheaply beautiful way..Lambert’s FYE album art also paid a cheap homage to the 80′s but was still making sense somehow.

    If I want a Harley Davidson then I’ll go buy one. I’m by no means a Gaga expert or a hater. I dont put enough effort into her life to do either, but this is just effing ridic.
    A head on a motor bike?! Maybe she’s channeling MotorHead IDK but its not even cute in an ugly epic way. Its just more of the same, trying too hard to shock us at every turn.

    I miss the Bad Romance and Telephone days when Gaga was fun & made me move. Now she’s like the cutting room floor tape of the exorcism.

    Even I, who love GaGa very much, hate this fugly cover. What the hell happened with Haus of GaGa??? They used to be soooo creative.

    It’s really a HUGE downgrade from beautiful The Fame cover and super edgy yet cool The Fame Monster cover.

    But I love Judas. It’s really good. And I love how creative she is, singing love song with Bible as references.

    As for the album cover…i hate it. Its pointless. It totally left field and relates to nothing about the theme of the album. But i guess that’s why you like it. I don’t. i think its ridiculous. Im sure she will have some witty Gaga-esque explanation for it though. LOL.

    I am a professional graphic artist and multi-media designer and I have to agree with much of the banter about the new cover. It looks as if her media team hired a noob designer, with no concept on how to properly use Photoshop. This ordeal is a great way to boost the ego of a half-ass designer. “Hey look, I designed Lady GaGa’s album cover. I am the great!” News flash, it still remains that your work is bottom of the barrel. Go read some tutorials on Photoshop Use T.V. and keep practicing. I hope this is a fake. Keep in mind, her music is still awesome, but this album cover is class “A” crap…..
