Lady GaGa officially confirms ‘ARTPOP’ album title, the entire world groans

Oh God.

A few days ago, Lady GaGa hinted that her third studio album will be titled ‘ARTPOP‘ by tweeting the above selca with the turgid title freshly tattooed on her arm. I ignored it, praying to the gods of pretense that this embodiment of everything that makes Lady GaGa super-duper lame would not destroy what could potentially be a fabulous-sounding album. Unfortunately, the Dutchess of Delusion has now officially confirmed the news through her new fan community, aka loser haven, LittleMonsters.com.

Here’s the first of what will surely be many Godawful quotes that GaGa has already made about ARTPOP.

“ARTPOP is an obsession.”

“Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you capitalize the title, its all in the details.”

“Pop art was a movement in the 70s that is still alive today.”

“ARTPOP is the music I’ve been making since ‘The Fame.’”

“The irony of ARTPOP and pop art being similar is on purpose.”

“ARTPOP could mean anything.”

How about this one: “FARTPOP is like a big loud stinky pretentious bowel movement that only generic teenagers and puerile gay men can smell.”

Sigh. GaGa would be so good if she wasn’t allowed to speak, write her own lyrics, or record songs like “Americano”. With that said, “Marry The Night” is still mah jam.

    (ignoring the post topic) Errr… i’ve never seen the appeal of Kanye. Nothing he’s done has caught me enough to give a proper listen. As someone who likes pop music, what would a recommended track of his be to really ignite a love for him?

    Honestly, what is there to even say about GaGa anymore? I’ll admit, when I got my hands on the first Canadian pressing of ‘The Fame’ back in August 2008 (before the US repackage and the hype came about), I really thought she had something. I was utterly impressed with the amount of cheeky fun that landed on that disc. Unfortunately for every PURE POP fan on the planet, anything and everything fascinating about Lady GaGa died with that album. ‘The Fame Monster’ wasn’t horrible, though in my opinion the weird costumes and absurd music videos were the beginning of the end. ‘Born This Way’ was utterly over-hyped, over-pitched, and mis-represented. It’s fascinating music, but it’s pretentious, snobby, and generic at best. Songs like ‘You and I’, ‘The Edge of Glory’, ‘Heavy Metal Lover’, ‘Bad Kids’, and ‘Bloody Mary’ at times make it seem alright, but then you get down to the absurd performances, costumes, and again, the ridiculous music videos and you’re left with an over-hyped pretentious mess.

    ARTPOP, and I completely agree with the Proph’s write-up, is already sounding like an even bigger snobby mess than it’s predecessor. Honestly, if this is the GaGa that we’re going to get now… Thanks but i’ll pass.

    Totally agree. People can irrelevantly moan about ‘Born This Way’ being a clusterfuck, which it sorta was, but a god damn album tracklist taking away from the music is ridiculous. Marry The Night, Born This Way (yes tacky & Express Yourself-ey, but it’s still good), Shiebe, Heavy Metal Lover, Edge of Glory, You and I. Those songs have no flaws! Anyway, stanning Gaga on here is obviously a waste of time.

    I liked Lady Gaga in the beginning she wasn’t original but she was fine. What I think made me hate her, were “little monsters” and her attitude. Lady Gaga is not original and she and her fans SWEAR ON GAY JESUS she is. “Born This Way will be the album of the decade.” Really? Your not that good and she making herself the most annoying pop star on earth. “I don’t need my costume and gimmicks to sell my music i could perform naked on a piano and my music speak for itself.” She never done this, and the reason people buy into her is because she is 90% costumes and gimmicks and 10% music.
    Canceled a french tour stop because she could bring all of her “stuff” with her. “I wouldn’t be able to give a good performance.” Finallyy goes the next day decked out in super glue and plastered in what ever she can find to perform on stage. Lady Gaga should humble herself and work on learning how to be real. The tortured, bullied kid was getting old your an adult get the fuck in therapy and work your crazy ass shit out.

    I happen to be a huge Britney fan too but there’s just no comparison! I mean obviously people can have a preference to who they like more, Britney’s music is flawless, but you’d have to be very optimistic to honestly believe she partakes heavily in the creative and editing process of her music.

    Call Gaga fake and as similarly manufactured as you want but you can’t deny that she she obviously has a heavy creative process in her work, regardless of whether you think it’s for the good or bad.
