Kylie’s new album is amazing.

I’m gonna do a proper review when this comes out in full, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got back from the Kylie Minogue ‘Aphrodite‘ album listening party, and it was AMAZING.

I was a little worried that the full album wouldn’t live up to the megamix that leaked, but it actually completely surpassed it. In fact, there was only one dud out of the whole 12-tracks on the record, and you know that these days it’s pretty rare to have an album that’s so solid.

“Get Outta My Way” looks like it’s going to be the second single. There was also future hit single potential in “Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)”, the infectious, radio friendly “Better Than Today”, and the Gwen Stefani/Fergie-esque title track “Aphrodite”.

The album is a lot more varied than you would first think, with some major club numbers, some more subtle stuff, and then a few less dancey, more poppy type songs.

‘Aphrodite‘ is definitely more consistent than ‘X‘ was, and some of the songs even reminded me of ‘Fever‘ a bit.

It’ll be out in Japan by the end of this month, followed by Australia on July 2 and then the rest of the world a few days later.

    Proph!! I hate u!! i wish I would have gone! My favorite so far from the sames is “Closer, “Everything is Beautiful” and “Can’t Beat the feeling”.. Are all these songs good???! I cannot wait I pre-ordered the album and stuff but I have to admit I doubt she’ll be back in the US. I have not heard her song ONCE in the radio…

    I tried to get the goss on the US stuff from her marketing manager who I was talking to, then JUST as I was about to ask some guy came and pulled her away!

    “Closer” sounds epic in full. It’s really space age, kinda futuristic, and it’s a bit dark for her! “Everything is Beautiful” was amazing, it’s really pretty and a lot more subtle than the other songs. It reels you in.

    “Can’t Beat The Feeling” is hot and it’s the album’s closing song. The person I was with loved it, it’s one of the more obvious songs, where as some of the other tracks are more subtle or a little different.

    I think I’m gonna stan for “Looking For An Angel” now just to piss you off! Anyway, it was fun. I’m actually surprised we liked the same songs – although I’m not as sold on “Illusion” as you, while I LOVED “Can’t Beat The Feeling” and stop lying. You were hating on it inbetween telling me about Khia how uses a giant candy cane as a dildo. Anyway, I posted my review!

    And the only reason I didn’t mention “Too Much” was because I’ll go in depth when I review the record properly. I need to listen to an album in depth for a few days to review, so just hearing it at the party tonight wasn’t enough for me to want to go in with a full review yet.

    “Too Much” was AMAZING though. “Closer” is incredible, it’s really dark and kind of futuristic. It almost sounds like out of space. Honestly I thought every single song was amazing except Looking for an Angel. “Everything is Beautiful” was great to.. Ahhh. Seriously, me and my friend over at the Pop Trash blog went together, and we had trouble even picking favorites because the album is THAT good. Only thing we agreed on was that we didn’t like “looking for an angel”.

    I just KNOW it will be one of my fave albums of the year. It already is!

    OHH! THANK YOU! I was really worried about Too Much not bein awesome lol. I just wish she had been here (portugal) with these songs on her tour (she was here for the first time some months ago…). Now when am I ever goin to see her singin them live?? Oh Lawd…this ain’t fair…I bet I’m goin to have lots of Kylie moments with this album!!

    I found the preview for “Too Much” didn’t do it justice. “Closer” & “Everything Is Beautiful” are perfect and should be singles if they get the chance. “Aphrodite” also reminded me of Gwen Stefani – in a good way – and could possibly work as a single as well.

    I agree about “Looking For An Angel”, which I liked when I heard the preview. It isn’t a terrible song but it is a bit too cheesy [especially when put up against "Aphrodite" & "Closer"]

    I think this album just made it to the top 10 albums of this upcoming decade! OMG this album is amazing! I’m not going to lie, when I first heard it I was like … that’s it… The previews sounded amazing and well i listen to it and dam its amazing!

    All the songs have a different feeling to it.. I’m not going to lie.. “X” is amazing and was def one of my fav albums from the last decade… I still haven’t decided which one I liked more… I’ll see.

    Def getting a copy!! I pre-ordered it!

    Who cares if kylie’s latest album does not do well in the states! Have you heard some of the crap that is on their charts? No offense to the rap lovers out there but seriously how is speaking lyrics a talent???
    If it does not chart in the us so be it. It will only re-instate my views that American music charts are crap!
