Bonkers Harajuku princess Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is back with another one of her wonderfully weird singles. The latest, titled “Fashion Monster”, sees the style icon dabbling in a little J-Rock for the first time ever. And by “dabbling in J-Rock”, what I mean is that Kyary has now adopted a heart-shaped guitar with an eyeball on it as her new favorite fashion accessory.
Led Zeppelin who?
As expected, “Fashion Monster” is another one of Nakata Yasutaka‘s nutso bubblegum concoctions, the kind that only really works with Kyary at the helm. The song is almost as good as all of Kyary’s other pop masterpieces, but of course it’s the music video where “Fashion Monster” really comes to life.
Kyary spends most of the video putting her paws up while fronting the world’s most bizarre rock band. She also cosies up to a samurai with an unusually large brain, gets covered in a sticky pink substance, and makes a casual phone call. However, my favorite thing about the whole video is probably just the fact that her hair is styled in the shape of a bat.
Once again, no flaws can be found when it comes to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
