Kween Ke$ha Delivers Legendary & Iconic “Die Young” Performance on X Factor

Ethereal pop goddess Ke$ha seems to have recovered from Britney’s recent blunder –in which Robotney proved that she barely knew of her existence by publicly mispronouncing her name as “keesha“, despite the fact that the two have worked ‘together’ before– because K-Dollar was on fire tonight during her first ever performance of “Die Young”, live on Australian X Factor.

Ke$ha’s clearly done her homework on how to put on a good show after being repeatedly blasted back in the day for her supposed lack of on stage prowess. The 25-year-old delivered a wild warrior themed spectacle complete with crazy costumes, a tribal dance break, a drum solo, Illuminati references, truckloads of glitter, and yes, live vocals that actually sounded good.

The whole thing was entertaining enough to make you forget all about how totally fine but not quite amazing “Die Young” really is. But despite it’s so-so status, the song is still doing incredibly well, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and out-charting Rihanna’s dull “Diamonds”. I’m just worried that if Kween Ke$ha doesn’t put out a more distinguishable single next time, she’ll become the female Jason DeRulo (or more recently, Chris Brown) and won’t be able to sell an album to save her life.

Anyway, peep Ke$ha’s sparkly X Factor performance below.

I love God$ha a little too much but lol @ “sleu of #1′s,” “one of the biggest pop superstars of our time”. What is with the centre-stage illuminati shit though? Projected and on the back of the dancers. Like what does it even mean? I’m a fan of the dance-break and nice to see Ke$ha perform a whisp of choreography, and those drummers are great! Is this song just a satanic illuminati charm to control over-population by encouraging mass suicide/murder to the young? These questions need answering.

lol this performance is aite but the “break” in between the end of the chorus and 2nd verse is plain awkward live… and why do u have to bring diamonds into this??? that song is nice and if Sia sung it u wouldbe praising it. Please do not give me that grape juiceness and bash rihanna at everychance u get wen the post isnt even remotely related to her…
why r u so mad tht she is collaborating with chris?? they love eachother, u cant just end a relationship like that its more complicated and we dont know the HALF of wat went donw tht night in feb 09′. im not a rihanna stan, im a fan of your site and i come here everyday and i dont want it to turn out to be a rihanna bashing site liek that shit juice.

She was awesome! but the Illuminati/Satanic symbols wrecked it for me.
First Rihanna then Lady Gaga and now Ke$ha.

  • mimimiam

lol @ ” live vocals that actually sounded good.” hum u must be talking about the back track coz each time she tried the singing part of the song we couldnt hear her coz of the playback behind…the only times she was live without playback was during the rap parts…easy.

And the performance was so unoriginal, tribal dancers, drums….gosh its like a trend nowaydays (where have u been much?)
the song is just blah btw.

  • theprophetblog

Diamonds is boring and so is Die Young. The only reason I give Die Young the time of day is because I love Ke$ha.

  • theprophetblog

The kween gave good live vocal and u will deal!

  • theprophetblog

Hmm I think you’re just pressed that Ke$ha’s life changing choreography established her as the Michael/Janet of our generation!

  • Guest

i hated the song at first. it’s grown on me since, but i only enjoy blasting it in the car. otherwise, it’s still very average.

and sorry, but this is another kdollar performance that i didn’t enjoy. everything looks nice, but the strobe lights, dancers, glitter, drums etc. are all to distract from her limited performing abilities. you call out nicki for it, but not k$?

and lol @ that random moment at 2:59 when she actually screams “DIE!!!” for some reason

nothing on this performance stands out. the song should be at least decent for me to watch it a second time. She performs like Britney after becoming fat, but live. Badly, but live.

  • Frou

Do Australians not know Ke$ha or something? What was up with that lengthy introduction? Otherwise flawless performance.

  • TFC

as revenge for britney calling her “Keisha” she danced on the level of her. :)

I thought the “good vocals” was some diss..but it was decent like for her, the “break” was enjoyable, but the rest was kind of awkard…it just like her and the song doesn’t feel like going so well together,. anyway, for a today mostly stiff so-called pop divas around this was kind of decent.

Blatant symbolisms everywhere, was that needed?

  • BozzPop

Legendary and iconic really? That performance was more or less dirtier (not xtina’s dirrty but the opposite of clean) version of lustlacker of Britney’s Femme Fatale Tour performance… and I love Britney, like Kesha and I’m hooked on the song

  • mimifan

    britney oh britney LOL

  • clarke

lmao! ‘u will deal’…seriously tho…ke$ha really did her thing! that break was on point, she really owned the stage imo…im a happy camper! still not good enough 4me to buy the single tho…ill jus wait 4 the album.

  • iAmAwesome

OMG LOL @ her “illuminati” theorist trolling!

This performance made me love the song now. *Goes and illegally download it* Loves it!!!

  • iAmAwesome

    …Yes

  • Lashan

Die Young cool….but i eagerly anticipate supernatural…that track just gets the hair standing on the back of my neck!!!! Love Ke$ha

  • gee!sus

    She is giving Sexy Realness.
Maybe that’s her new directions, she never looked that sexy.

  • Britney Lover

She rocked it! But I felt like she’s trying too hard to be like keesha or something :p

  • bobs

Would have been better if they rolled out a dumpster and she popped out covered in rotten banana peels and a crown of used heroine needles. Bitch needs to be trashy, because when she cleans up she has the stage presence of a 10 year old Star Search reject (let’s not get to the vocals…) Still out of all the first singles from Xtina, Rihanna, and Tay — this is the only one I still listen to. Go figure.

  • bobs

    that’s not saying much…

  • Gia

Is the official video for Die Young EVER going to be released? WTH is going on?

  • ScoHay

Ke$ha did great.. Love the performance. And the triangles in the show were very interesting… it shows that she knows her shapes! I see nothing wrong with the performance.

  • vjx89

Diamonds is SO MUCH BETTER and it’s right behind DIe Young on hot 100 (and light-years ahead in the rest of the world). I believe diamonds is gonna outpeform die young anytime soon. As to the performance, it’s easy to sing “well” when you have a bunch of back singers singing louder than you. Still love Die Young, though.

    PS: She’s gorgeous!!!

ohh i didn’t know it was released already! i actually like it, ke$ha totally won me over with the cannibal ep…

  • theprophetblog

Ke$ha is huge here! We are like her second biggest market after America I think

  • Triumphant

That epic moment where Ke$ha dances better than Britney nowadays.

  • http://twitter.com/manolobarrios manolo barrios

her dancing wasn’t that great, i mean, i can see rihanna or katy perry doing the same thing and they all gonna look like a robot trying to scape from something real-real bad, non of them can dance their ass off to save their lives. Have u seen Belinda’s En el amor hay que perdonar? back then, when she was not a bone, her dancing was OMG why is she moving? she can’t dance but now she seems like a little movable* :)

  • sylfi

X Factor always does that. Their introductions are usually one or two minutes long. :P

  • Xorn

It must sucks when your background singers sound better than you do. The song is good, but Kesha is so depressingly white trash, that it just brings down the whole damned thing. That announcer is a dreamboat, thought. He needs to be naked somewhere.

this means that Brit stills in RCA…

  • http://twitter.com/paulsnyder90 PS Snyder

By the way…Diamonds just passed DY on the Hot100 today. It’s #4 and DY is #6.

    Cute shade though.
