Kelly Clarkson releases Pepsi NFL Anthem “Get Up”, remains better than Pink

Kelly Clarkson has released a new theme song for the Dallas Cowboys as part of Pepsi’s new NFL Anthems promotion. The commercial venture sees various artists getting behind an NFL team from their hometown, and recording a suitably ass-kicking sports anthem to help take their team to victory and sell lots of bottles of Pepsi.

Kelly’s contribution “Get Up” is the typical kind of go get ‘em fist-pumper that we’d expect from the pop-rocker. Just like Britney’s iconic Pepsi anthem “Taste The Victory”, “Get Up” is pretty damn good for what it is. It’s not gonna top the Hot 100 any time soon, but it’s perfect for the gym playlist and should get some drunk Texans out of their seats and dancing when it’s inevitably flogged to death at future Dallas Cowboys’ games.

Also, I must add that “Get Up” shits on Beige’s “Give Me (One Last Hit)”. Yeah, I said it!

    With a bigger chorus and elimination of some of the Cowboys-specific lyrics, this could make for a solid single. It’s shockingly current, that’s for sure. (And also a little sultry, which is refreshing coming from Kelly!)

    I always remember when Kelly C. tweeted that she was amazed that P!nk could sing while doing acrobatics and that autotune was “over”. Kelly must’ve been more amazed by the moves than the singing because she dusts the floor with P!nk tbh.

    I love it!!! Kelly is so much fun to dance to. She should do dance songs more often! I hate the Cowboys, but I just have to admit I love this song!!

    This song is too boring for me but of course I am a musician…If it does not have any funk, blues, or jazz modes in the song, it is too boring for me…it will get some Cowboy fans off their seats that like dance…I guess it is a fun song for some people…Cowboy fans I’m sure love it!
