Kelly Clarkson performs new music at secret gig
It’s no secret that Kelly Clarkson is already working on her fifth studio album, so during a recent VIP pre-show concert on her current tour the singer-songwriter played a ton of new material for the lucky crowd.
Thank God for us that some sneaky snake managed to record all the songs and put them up on YouTube, giving us a look at what could potentially be several demos for her next album.
I wouldn’t treat these songs like the gospel though. Remember when four acoustic demos leaked for All I Ever Wanted, and only one of them “Ready” ended up making the album with the final version receiving a significant pop makeover?
There are way too many new songs for me to put up in this post, ranging from piano based ballads to country style hoe-down tracks, so I’ve only selected four of them to put here. If you want to hear the rest just click here.

“new material from her upcoming 5th album” where did you get this WRONG info from? it isnt true. she sang old songs which were already written for her my december album. crappy blogs like yours are the reason for weird rumors.
Kelly is probably the only female singer I always look forward to hearing new material from. It’s always fresh and sounds different from her previous work, unlike other female artists who just change their wardrobe and think that qualifies as having a new sound.
My favorite song from the bunch is “I Wish I Could Be Lonely Instead” it has a U2 “One” type of a feel.
Looking forward to her 5th album next year (hopefully)!

And this stuff could still make her new album potentially coz she’s always recording new material. One Minute was from Breakaway but then she used it for My DEcember so you never know.
Actually, you’re kinda half right. She said the song “I Wish I Could Be Lonely Instead” is one that she is fighting to be on her new album. Also, some of the other songs are songs she wrote for other artists. Like, “Call Me” she sent that one to Reba, but Reba said the vocal range was too much for her. So, some of these songs may end up on her album, another artist’s, are old leftover songs, or may never see the light of day.
Oh did she say that about “lonely…” I better add that one in then!
Yeah, the people at that pre-show said she wrote it w/ her musical director, Jason Halbert and she wants that one to be on the new album. It sounds great acoustic, so I can only imagine how much more awesome it would sound in a studio.
Kelly should go independent. That way she would have full control over what’s on her album, and she doesn’t have some old asshole dictating her career.
I agree with her going independent or at least with another label that will value her as an artist & not some dumb puppet. I remember during My December she was on the other line of a phone conversation between her manager and some RCA suits. The RCA group said she was 24, female, didn’t know anything and shouldn’t be writing her songs. Which is dumb since she had writing credit on some of her previous major hits (miss independent, because of you, walk away, behind these hazel eyes).
She has 2 albums left with RCA. It was originally 5 but you know shit happened and now it’s 6 albums….4 down..2 to go!

I never thought I’d say something like this before, but “Far From Home” guitars are almost identical to Miley Cyrus’s “Fly On The Wall” ones.
