Kelis selects next Flesh Tone single.

In a new interview with Watermark Online, my girl Kelis has confirmed that the Benny Benassi-produced “Brave” will be the third single to be lifted from her underrated dance album, Flesh Tone.

I assume that we’re all in agreement that this is amazing news and that “Brave” is one of the best songs from the album, right?

The third Flesh Tone single was originally scheduled to be the David Guetta-produced “Scream”, but it now appears that Kelis and Co came to their senses and realized that it was the worst song off the album, and quickly replaced it with something much more divine.

Meanwhile, Kelis’ current single “4th of July” turned out to be a bit of a slow burner in the US, after reaching a peak last week of #4 on the Billboard club chart. As of this week, the song currently sits at #11.

Fingers crossed that “Brave” manages to reach the top spot.

Check out a random video of Kelis talking about “Brave” below.

It’s the next single, but where does it say that it’s going to replace Scream?

In the interview she says: “My next single is going to be “Brave,” and I’m excited about that.”

Shit I love Brave but I wanted Home to be the next single! Bitches here in Barbados gets down to that track and I think that’s the best track on the album and the beat is on another level! “the lights are shining but I’m already home” hope it gets single treatment *shaking & crying* lol

  • Aryo

    wat happened to scream then???

  • marymag

    why?

  • Ashlee

I didn’t hear where she says it will be her next single either… She just said it’s the last song she did on the record. It also seems this was recorded earlier this year… because now she has her short red hair.

I love the album and “Brave” is amazing single. I wanna see “22nd Century” as the next single…maybe it will be…

  • Andres

I don’t like that much “Brave” I was hoping for “Home” that song is amazing and will bring her to mainsterdam again since still her electronica-house new sound with some electropop commercial.

  • KarlMaxwell

this makes my ears happy….to be honest she could release anything from Flesh Tone (except song for the baby) and I would still be in love….

22nd century or Emancipate after please

  • Ethan

Brave might just be my favorite from Fleshtone.

  • Emancipation

Scream is the U.K. single. Brave is the U.S. single.

  • Yumm

Good choice! I could deff picture Brave getting Top 40 airplay. Song For The Baby should be the next single

Britneys next album comes out in 2011 Billboard comfirms it -

In the coming months, Gottwald will co-executive produce Britney Spears’ 2011 project, alongside Martin. For his own label, Kemosabe, whose sole release so far is Ke$ha’s “Animal,” he’ll be working with his latest signings, female singers Sabi and Sophia Black. Meanwhile, taking off his executive hat, he’s still involved in plenty of production one-offs, like an upcoming single for British powerhouse vocalist Jessie J (who co-wrote “Party in the U.S.A.” for herself before sacrificing it to Cyrus).

    So much for exclusives prop.

Home or Song for the Baby would’ve made much better singles for the U.S.! Brave is ok though. I’d love 22nd Century to be a single too.

    Love Miss Kelis!

Been listening to Emergency, Trilogy and Attention lately.(old songs but hers nonetheless)

    :p

    @Ashlee

That wasn’t the video of her confirming, that was just her talking about it.

She confirmed it to watermark online.

I doubt she is dropping Scream as her UK single, as it looks like her label has shelled out on some big names to produce the remixes.

  • Aryo

but yea brave is a good choice,
