Kelis and Calvin Harris ‘Bounce’ on new single

DJ Calvin Harris has snatched up Flesh Tone dancefloor filler Kelis for his latest single “Bounce”.

The soon-to-be club smash is laced with addictive arcadey laser synths, which essentially act as the hook while Kelis sings about ditching an ex-boyfriend and hitting the clubs on the verses. Harris’ last single “Awooga” contained a similar retro-meets-futuristic synth style as this, but the addition of Kelis this time around makes things a little more radio-friendly and amps up the crossover appeal.

A video for “Bounce” has already been shot, so hopefully it’s not too long before we can see Kelis in action again.

Check out the song below.

This starts SO promisingly, but then there’s no chorus and it fizzles, it’s really disappointing. Still decent, though.

Not bad, might need a couple more listens to like it.

This for me, is one of Calvin Harris’ weakest singles to date. I played joints off of his debut album non-stop. It was pretty much the soundtrack to my summer of 2008. And he came overly correct with his first 2 singles from his 2nd album (of which “Stars come out” was my JAM!!). But this and “Awooga” are both crap. I can’t believe he made fans wait so long for 2 songs which sound like B-sides. Dude was tweeting about this shit like it was going to be the best song ever.
