Ke$ha once again hints at a career in country music

Chart topping singer Ke$ha has yet again hinted that she hopes for a future in country music, admitting that she eventually plans to leave her now trademark electro-pop/rap style behind in order to focus on other genres.
It’s not the first time that Ke$ha, who grew up in Nashville, has made her country aspirations known, and it probably won’t be the last time either, especially since her mother is an accomplished songwriter who has previously written for country legend Dolly Parton.
Interviewer: Is it true that you love country, and why did you choose pop over country. Is it because there’s too many country singers right now?
Ke$ha – I lovvvvve country. I just kind of thought that right now, this record, I wanted to be fun. I’m young, I’m irreverent, and I’m full of this rowdy energy that I wanted to capture and put out while I’m feeling that way…
One day down the line I’m gonna capture a lot of other things; like I’d love to make a country record, and I’d love to make a blues record, and I’d love to make every kind of record because I love all kinds of music but one at a time…
My favorite song on my record is a song called “Animal”. It’s one of the last songs I wrote and it really captures my idea of people and the world and stuff. It has a great sound and it’s where my sound is developing towards I think. It’s not about partying; it’s about something very real.
I love country music and I think Ke$ha has what it takes to cut it as a country singer because she can play instruments and her songwriting is very autobiographical, which is a key element in the country genre.
However she needs to be prepared to get little, or no support from her record label RCA who will most probably force her to stick to her money-making formula, and she needs to be ready to see a huge majority of her fans give her the boot because many of her listeners are younger and probably aren’t interested in much outside of top 40 pop.
But hey, who knows what will happen in the future. P!nk made the transition from R&B singer to superstar pop rocker, so if she can do it then Ke$ha has a chance to.

Animal is awesome! Maybe it’s time for you to get back to some album review, proph?
I know, everyone is asking me to review albums again.
I thinkl I will, but I need longer with Animal. I dont wanna do a review where it’s too new. I really need time to settle on an album properly and know it back to front
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?comments&v=1148052156191 I was a kid cudis concert last night in NY. Lit up a blunt. Man he is the coolest cat around! IF you get any chance at all you have to see him!
She has a poor voice to sing country music, also her image is so intimidating and dirty for country music, this public is so moralist and dont like girls like that, We can se for examples Jessica Simpson flopping on this genre, I think it was probably for her dumb, sexy, intimidating image, cuz her album is supa good, the same with the new singer Jessie James.
i agree 100% diego i loved do u know, but according to the ‘professional reviews’ jesss been mewing and over singing again on her album. And apparently her voice lacks substance and soul (which i obviously disagree)
P
Jessica flopped though because she sucks lol and came across fake, and Jessie is way too sexual and poppy, she marketed herself way too heavily on sex appeal.
If Taylor swift can be the biggest thing in country now then Ke$ha definitely has a shot. Ke$has vocals are on par or better than Taylors, and their songwriting is similar except Ke$has subject matter is completely different.
And Son, I’m seeing Cudi in February LOL
Hmmm IDK, I think is betta she keeps doing pop/dance records… Taylor has a pure girl image, the opposite of Kesha hahaha, Country public critized til Carrie Underwood for Cowboy Casanova video…
good luck. there’s a weird shift in country going on. seems like people in that community aren’t too fond of artists that make pop with a country influence and call it country (Taylor Swift).
i have a feeling if she does go country it won’t be till years later when she’s a has been and wants to come back to the music scene. that seems to be the case with many artists …. they all end up going country to restart their careers.
@everyone
taylor music is watered down and her songwritting is dull and amateurish (not hatin) >)<
I can’t stand Taylor. I have nothing against her personally but I think her music is wack except for Fifteen.
My fave country artist is Miranda Lambert she’s the realest chick out and the most talented.
I don’t know, I really liked Tik Tok and decided to look up Kesha, and the first place I went was Youtube. Her dancing is really awkward and she doesn’t have a good voice live, but she’s fun!! I watched interviews next and at first I thought she was pretty cool but then she would tell completely different stories in different interviews… Like in one she said “I wrote all of the songs on my album all by myself!!” … but then on another interview she said her mom wrote 3 of the songs. I’m just finding a lot of hard to believe, inconsistent stories she’s telling. Then to top it all off, yesterday someone showed me this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVt4lXxA5mI . It’s Kesha’s video and vocals with Kylie Minogue’s music from Love at First Sight and it is a blatant rip off. I had heard of this before and was like whatever, I mean songs are going to have the same beat sometimes, but if you watch the whole thing it is unbelievable. So long story short, I have been really disappointed with Kesha and if she steals music from others, doesn’t actually have a lot of talent, and lies, I don’t think she’s going to make it big anywhere except where she is, making synthesized, dumb music that’s fun to dance to.
I just…can’t. I’m really looking forward to her 15 minutes being up. She’s just so damn generic to me, and happens to look like Taylor Swift went on the worlds longest coke binge and woke up in a Forever 21.
yep proph, that is what i said as i was reading this..if taylor can make it so can kesha..dnt see what the big deal is here!!
HOLY SHIT Kesha ripped off the riff from Kylie Minogue’s “Love at First Sight” exactly.
I can’t believe I missed that. Check out the instrumental: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xflFJvQQbO0
Without the lyrics it’s obvious is a straight copy.
Kylie’s team better have gotten writing credits for “Tik Tok.” Anyone got the liner notes?
Interesting. I knew Kesha had good taste in music as soon as I heard about her breaking into Prince’s house. I was like wow this girl has some hella taste. I also agree with you proph like RCA isn’t going to be happy about that at all. I mean it’s such a drastic transition unless of course she doing something like my favorite Jessie James but I highly doubt that was what she was talking about. Kesha is very good a fusion so I think it would be an interesting take to see where she goes with that.
best to go back wherever trash she came from. yes, do some country hick song…lol, and wtf is she talking about going country? she cant even sing, no talent bitch…lol.
Why does she look so dirty like? I can’t understand it. Im not talking about her at all..but it’s like..the obvious..She looks a mess.
When she saya she has written all the songs she means she wrote on all of the songs. When she said my mom wrote 3 of the songs, Pebe co-wrote three pf the songs. Her story isn’t changing.
She still co-wrote all of the songs and her mom helped her write 3 of them. I don’t see what the big deal is.
And for the last fucking time… Is Ke$ha a producer? NO! So stop blaming her for the beat, if it sounds or doesn’t sound like someone else. Fuck I’m fed up with all of you blaming Ke$ha for the beat when clearly Dr. Luke produced the fucking song
It’s ke$ha YA’LL
She looks like she just left starbucks. lol. She’s cool tho’.
TRAIN WRECK. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL WITHIN 2 YRS.
you know another RCA superstar did the same thing Ke$ha is looking to do, but never explicitly gave away all her plans. Christina Aguilera made her first record which was very “in” when it came out, then she made an eclectic album with mostly pop rock but also hip-hop (Dirrty, Can’t Hold Us Down) and actual rock (Fighter), and then made a blues/soul record with “Back To Basics” and now she’s focused on electronic sounds. Christina never felt a need to say what all these plans were, but she has always reinvented her sound and made completely different records. I think if Ke$ha proves to have staying power, she could do it!
…. Christina could succeed because she had talent. Anyone who is very talented in my opinion has the ability to stick around if they want to. Unfortunately Ke$ha is lacking in that dept.
