Kaskade & Skylar Grey’s “Room For Happiness” gets the single treatment

Kaskade, ‘AKA America’s Best DJ‘, will release his broody Skylar Grey collab “Room For Happiness” as the next single from his latest album Fire & Ice.

I first raved about the tune back in October, praising Skylar’s restrained vocal delivery and insightful lyrics, and the melancholy electronica of Kaskade’s production. It’s definitely been a fave tune of mine for a while now.

The single will officially be out on January 31st, followed by the music video on February 10th. Or should I say, music videos, as there will actually be two released: one for the ‘Fire’ version of the song, and the other for the ‘Ice’ version. If you picked up Kaskade’s album, you’ll know that the ‘Fire’ version is the clubby one, and that the other is a haunting ballad.

Given Kaskade’s pull on the dance floor and Skylar’s track record as a successful feature creature, “Room For Happiness” should end up doing quite well on the club charts.

In other Skylar news, the alt-pop diva will be releasing an EP on the 17th of this month called The Buried Sessions of Skylar Grey. The EP will feature stripped versions of many of the hits she’s penned, like “Love The Way You Lie” and “Coming Home”. I would’ve preferred some more original material, but this will have to do as we wait (im)patiently or her album to drop.

I like this song!!! Both version are amazing!
And honestly, she has a great voice too! But I wish she would stop being promoted as a pop artist. I think she needs to stay the alternative rock/hip-hop artist that she really is, who just happens to be really good at pop hooks.
