Joe Jonas’ “Just In Love” is classy but nasty at the same time

Earlier this week Joe Jonas premiered the music video for his latest single “Just In Love”, or should I say, Marlon Brando’s Last Tango in Paris for teens.
The semi-steamy visual centers around Joe’s brief-but-passionate tryst with a Parisian girl, which involves a lot of sightseeing and hot sex. The JoBro’s are all lovely boys, so “Just In Love” doesn’t push the boundaries too far in terms of raunchy content; the lovemaking scenes are all very classy, and you get the sense that Joe and his lady friend have a connection beyond the physical — there’s none of the sleaze ‘n’ cheese that you get from other young male stars like Trey Songz, Usher, and Chris Brown.
Hey, you know who else would’ve made a tasteful video like this? Justin Timberlake. And you know who would’ve recorded a song like this almost ten years ago? Yup, Justin Timberlake. I’ve been continually comparing Joe’s whole solo career to JT’s Justified era, and for good reason — “Just In Love” feels like the Justified re-release single that Jive begrudgingly decided to put out due to Justin’s never-ending hiatus from the music scene.
Take that as a compliment, Joe, because Justified rocked and still rocks to this day, and if you wanna make your whole solo album Justified-Lite, then by no means, don’t let me stop you.
Joe’s solo debut Fast Life drops next month, and “Just In Love” is on iTunes now. I plan on buying both.
