Jesse McCartney returns in 2010 with new R&B album
After successfully upping his target market from eleven-year-old tweens to fifteen-year-old girls, singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney has announced plans to return next year with a new R&B tinged album.
“It’s gonna be kind of a continuation of Departure, but maybe a little more R&B slightly. You’ll get the chance to hear what’s going on in my head right now and a little … more personal.”
“It’s a little bit more raw,” he explained. “But still rhythmic and upbeat. It’s still soulful. I’m still kind of writing it all out. I don’t want to give too much away.” [source]
The 22-year-old also confirmed that he plans to team up with rapper Ludacris again after they found success together with their hit single “How Do You Sleep”.
I don’t mind a little J-Mac here and there. Departure had some nice sugary sweet urban-pop, but it didn’t manage to take him all the way to adulthood. Right now he’s stuck somewhere between Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake circa 2002, so he really needs to make sure that this next album completes the transition for him.

I love Jesse McCartney. “Departure” was a good album. I LOVED “Runnin’” and “It’s Over”. Now that he’s going more R&B the album should be really good. I love his voice. I listened to “Not Your Enemy” over and over again when I first heard it. I can’t wait for the new album.
I LOVE His album departure, I brought it when it came out..just for that song “Leavin’ lol…he has a few others on the album that are great. I love his style!! I will buy the next one. I saw the interview on mtv.

And Filius I know, I stan for Tatu and I downloaded the album, but I prefer their songs in Russian so I like the original waste management better.
yeah i don’t know why but i also prefer russian versions of, for example, sparks – 220 or white robes/biely plashyk maybe cause i know both languages and russian suits better to their style, but tell me what did you prefet – waste management, dangerous and moving or 200 po vstrechnoy (or whatever the transcribtion looks like)

Departure was my jam for the longest. I hope his music stays similiar to departure. I can’t wait to buy it. I alreadfy heard his leaked song “tonight is your night.” I hope his cd sounds like that song. And maybe sexier.

i have been a fan since i was 11 and i will never stop. my world revolves around jesse McCartney. i am sad he is going away from “Beautiful Soul” sounds. i liked him better as a pop star not an r&b star. but either way he is still sexy and i will not stop loving him. his voice is amazing. i personally believe that any look or style he tries will suite him because he’s got that ‘special’ harmony in his voice. He’s ..great!
