Jennifer Lopez preps 3D concert film and possible Vegas residency

Now that Mariah Carey is eating her leftovers on American Idol, Jennifer Lopez has finally revealed her future career plans.

The manager of The World’s Most Beautiful Woman has confirmed to Extra that Lopez is currently shooting footage for a 3D concert film named after her current ‘Dance Again’ world tour. Much like Katy Perry’s flick, J.Lo’s will chronicle the last few year’s of the superstar’s life “as she faced big changes”.

Her manager added, “her instinct is to get right back up, go on the road and dance again.”

Is anybody going to watch this? Perry and Bieber’s 3D concert films were a success, but they’re two of pop’s biggest names right now. Jen’s had about two hit singles in the past five years. On the other hand, she is still a huge name in her own right, and there’s a few reasons why a J.Lo concert flick would be worth watching. She topped Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list this year, she can still sell perfume and whatever other products her face is attached to, she’s always successfully used her personal life for publicity, she can run rings around Perry and Bieber when it comes to putting on a performance, and unlike the aforementioned, she’s been a huge box office draw in the past.

Plus, even if it tanks in North America, it’ll rake in a lot in Europe and Latin America.

In more exciting J.Lo news, a rep for the multi-talented diva has confirmed that she’s currently in talks to pull a Celine Dion by setting up her own Las Vegas residency. And by “in talks”, what they clearly mean is that Jen’s trying to squeeze even more cash out of Sin City before signing on the dotted line.

Once again Jen proves that she’s still the savviest businesswoman in showbiz!

The boyfriend and I are passing through Sydney in December, and we’ve got tickets to her show. Should be fun – I’m waiting for a wig snatching of epic proportions. I’d definitely watch her 3D concert, or go to a show in Vegas if I were there.

    The Tour Is Amazing!

Jennifer may not be a ‘Top 40′ hit at the same levels as perry or the Bieb… But she Does Have a diverse following … If this movie is shot and billed properly … It may just be a success

I wasn’t able to make the tour, but I would def go see the 3D concert. She’s an awesome entertainer. I heard Katy’s flopped. I never checked the #s but Bieber’s did okay?

Anyways, JLo’s will be better than both of theirs. She’s the definition of world icon, female entertainer, global business woman. The bitch slays and still looks better at 43 than our faves at age 23. Rock it out, Jen!

And I agree with you, if they bill it properly, this will be a success. The holiday season would be a great time for a release. Even if the US is stupid to NOT GO see it, the rest of the world in Euro, Asia, Latin America, and Australia will be interested.

This is not a bad way to make money either. The distribution costs are probably the main expense unless they get a deal with a distributor. They should release the dvd to this in March 2013 for even more sales. 3D concerts are becoming more common.

I swear this chick has the longest resume in the game. Still gettin all these jobs in this economy. GET IT J.LO!!!!!

And HELL YES I would watch J.Lo’s concert in theaters…but the real question is if I could find a friend to drag with me. I mean, I don’t know if any of them can handle all that ass in 3D…

Prophet, you are wrong about Katy’s movie, it flopped.

  • theprophetblog

Katy’s didn’t flop at all but the media tried to make out like it did just because it didn’t rake in squillions of dollars like Michael Jackson’s or Bieber’s.

For what it was, it did well. It grossed more than double its budget and was critically well-received, so IMO that’s a definite success considering what a random venture it was.

Absolutely Agreed. Plus, all the cross-promotion, record sales, etc. that wasnt a flop at all

  • Lee

the movie has grossed over 30 million and it hasn’t even been released in most countries yet! People are too quick to call something a flop these days.

Funny how Mariah is eating BIGGER leftovers then Jenny herself.

hahaha. “all that ass in 3D…” i die. <3

I find it funny people calling this movie a future flop, when people are actually interested in J.Lo as a person, unlike Katy or Justin (besides his stalkers… I mean fans, of course) The media has been talking about her throughout her entire career. She may not get #1 smash hits or albums, but she’s still a household name within both the music and film industry. The film will be smash.

You had me till Bieber can’t perform. I’m sorry but no.

    ^THIS!

I respect her hustle. Girl got more tricks than Kris Jenner (who’s the most skilled business woman in Hollywood, don’t front.)

  • theprophetblog

Have you seen him perform lol? Singing off-key and trying to dance
