Jennifer Hudson performs “I Will Always Love You” for Whitney Houston
The third annual BET honors aired tonight, this year honoring the legendary Whitney Houston with a star-studded line-up of of tribute performances.
One of those performances was the beautiful and talented Jennifer Hudson, who got the opportunity to sing “I Will Always Love You” directly to her idol.
This will probably go down as one of the best and most important performances of Jennifer’s career, and I think it easily cemented her as one of the best vocalists of today’s generation. Whitney certainly seemed to enjoy it to, and she isn’t impressed easily, so to have the greatest female singer of all time co-signing Jen the whole way through really says a lot.

Jennifer tore this up. She was great. Such control and power. She really is one of the best vocalist of our time. She is great and can’t wait for her new album. Jennifer needs songs like this for her next album so she can show off those amazing vocals in a big way.

My top female pop/R&B vocalists of the generation are Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson.
Probably on a technical scale Leona Lewis is the best, but Leona and other females lack the SOUL and raw emotion that Christina, Kelly and Jennifer have.
must be bitter sweet for whitney. one hand so cool for such an amazing artist with amazing vocals to pay tribute to you. but on the other hand knowing that you can’t do that the way you once used to.

Kim Burell and Whitney’s reactions did it for me. Those two had an awesome spiritual connection and it showed! Kim was taking Whitney to church and then bringing her back for evening service.
Whitney is such a spiritual person and seems to be in a great place now.

Agreeing with Prophet Jennifer’s goal was not to try an outdue Whitney on her own song. This is will still always be Whitney’s tradmark and Jennifer knows that. Whitney is her Idol which is why it’s called a tribute people not “Imma sing this better than Whitney show” Give over it. Jennifer did great by doing her own rendition and from many of the true die hard Whitney stans that I know they all loved it.

Thank u Lea, Mariah’s voice has been shot since 2001. She has yet to deliver a live performance that was above average since “Hero”. Her voice left the day she struck 30.Along with her body.
Jennifer Hudson did AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! When she got up there i just KNEW she was going to tear it up and she did! I love that woman. And i LOVE however her new stylist is b/c she looked GREAT at the Grammys!
