Janet Jackson announces 2011 world tour.

The legendary Janet Jackson dropped a bombshell today when, completely out of the blue, she announced a full scale world tour for 2011, which she is officially billing as her “largest ever world tour”.

The 35-date tour will be in support of Janet’s greatest hits compilation Number Ones, with the set-list comprising of 35 of her various chart topping hits.

With only 35 dates scheduled, Janet may only be able to visit one or two cities in each country, so you’ll have to be quick to make sure you don’t miss out on the TOUR OF THE MILLENNIUM.

    Nahhh, it wont be a flop. It’s only 35 cities for the entire planet. Short 3 mos tour. Which will mean the largest cities in each country will be selected; they will sell out. Janet also said she wants intimate venues so that sounds to me small arenas or large theatres (under 10k seating). In the US it will be like Prince Tour, smaller 6-7k venues like radio city music hall or madison square gardens. She has a pre-selected list of cities on her web site which u can choose from or make one of your own. Top 35 gets on the tour list.

    OMG this is so MJ, she already sounds out of breath and confused :/ I’m not being shady either but i kind of agree with @BasicInstinct i don’t think she’ll sell out big Arenas around the world but she can pull it off aslong as she’s doing small Arenas and stuff like that. Hopefully she’ll come to Cardiff international Arena and i may see her.

    Why would people spend money on tickets for her tour when they wont even buy her new material nor her greatest hits? Lol she needs to quit beating a dead horse and just focus on acting. Damn shame even Mariah sold 500k with “Memoirs” and had a top 5 debut with a silly Christmas album while Janitor hasnt even seen gold in almost a decade.

    BTW “Damita Jo” (2004) and “20 Y.O.” (2006) were both PLATINUM! “Discipline” is Gold and “Number Ones” is doing just fine for an greatest hits album.
    Her this year “American Idol” performance was No.1 on iTunes…

    Haters can hate as much they can, it won’t change the facts above. Janet is the legendary pop icon, an unstoppable force in music industry, 7th most successful artist in history and 7th richest woman in the world!!!

    All she needs is a good marketing, and she will outsell everyone. Her new team is amazing.

    And one more thing. I am always very happy to see many haters commenting Janet. She would be nothing without them. You don’t see haters everywhere. They hate only successful artists. :)

    People may not see the appeal in a Janet Jackson concert but it’s personal preference and I dont see the appeal in paying for alot of “artists” that owe alot to Miss Jackson’s performance style and legacy showing there’s a reason that she was the first MTV Icon award winnner.
