Heavenly angels SNSD perform on Music Lovers, continuing slaying Japan

I can see your halo, halo, halo…

The flaw-free angels of Girls’ Generation appeared on Japan’s Music Lovers this weekend to perform their double A-side Japanese single “Oh! / All My Love Is For You”. The single recently became the group’s first N0. 1 on the Oricon chart, reaching the top with ease earlier this month because it no competition from AKB48 or any of their trillion sub-units.

The Divine Nine let their beauty do the talking during the “Oh!” performance, miming the song while looking insanely hot in thigh-high boots and little sports jackets. I wasn’t a fan of them releasing “Oh!” in Japan because it’s so old now and regresses their edgier J-Pop image, but they made up for it by adding the beautiful “All My Love Is For You”. Speaking of that epic ballad, I was slayed by the Music Lovers performance. I just wish I could tell for sure if they were singing live or not. It sounded almost too perfect to be true, but since they’ve been matching a lot of their studio vocals live since The Boys and TTS, it’s hard to tell whether they’re really singing or not these days.

This is the last we’ll see of the innocent aegyo SNSD for a while, as they’re returning to a sexy concept for their upcoming electropop single “Flower Power”. It’s due in Japan on November 14th, followed by their Japanese sophomore album on November 28th. I ended up loving “Paparazzi” in the end, so I am beyond pumped to hear the nine princesses of K-pop getting dancey again.

With that said, they’ll still never top “The Great Escape”, and neither will any of your faves. Sorry.

My faves already surpassed The Great Escape and everything else when they released Wonder World. Deal with it. Also, can you bring back the chat board again? You can make it more restrictive or something, so only members actually invested in this blog can have access instead of just the delusional stans :P

The only members who sang in AMLIFY was Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, and Sunny. They mimed like, a line each for some reason. Don’t know why when they sounded amazing on the parts they did sing. I was actually surprised at how perfect they sounded. I wasn’t sure if they were miming at first, but I could tell they were singing live when I noticed their tones sounded slightly different from the original recording and the timing of their breath.

But enough with the technical stuff. They looked fucking gorgeous as usual and I cannot wait until they drop the aegyo act and release Flower Power. Oh! just isn’t doin it for me.

    my angels were amazing.

The last few seconds of Hyo giving off alien realness was glorious imo.

SNSD has been boring the fuck outta me lately tho. Their recipe of what made them successful in the first place has made them stale and repetitive A little more edge ala T-ara kthx

They probably mimed some to help with remembering the lines. In their first live perf of AMLIFY, Jessica accidentally sang “open with polishing powder” instead of “open with my hand.” She only muddled up a couple syllables but the whole meaning changed completely.

Anyway, the live vocals sounded great and they look as gorgeous as ever. Can’t wait for their comebacks

I think they remain amazing. I love seeing them get more mature and also how their talent is improving. They were pretty bad talent-wise when they debuted, and now they are fantastic performers! Even though not all of them can sing, the ones who can are great vocalists (TTS and Jessica), some others are pretty solid, and they can all dance and perform. This Oh! performance doesn’t do them justice, but their live Boys performances were great. Paparazzi too.

    TALENTED GENERATION! IMPROVED GENERATION!

I love how groups like SNSD and T-ara show improvement. They don’t remain stale like 2NE1.

The Great Escape is equally as good as Wonder World, if not better

Are you sure they’re slaying Japan? They cannot even break into the Japan charts.

  • nonminti

Why their flawlessness for me always comes as blandness.Sigh…

  • ctt88

They can’t? Are you even serious? They’ve topped a lot on Oricon since Genie. And their 1st album sold over 870K units (over 1million shipments).

    Get your facts straight, hater.

Really?! I always thought their debut was good. The dancing was really in sync back then.
And I liked their song ‘girls generation’…

Their singles Genie, Gee, Mr Taxi/RDR, Paparazzi, Oh!/AMLIFY charted at Oricon at #4,#2,#2,#2,#1 and in JPN Billboard at #4,#2,#1,#1,#1 respectively. Their japanese album was #1, certified Million for 1 million shipments and over 870K units as ctt88 said. Even their korean releases had charted high in japanese album charts with The Boys #2, Hoot #2 and Twinkle #6. Where exactly is their problem on breaking into Japan’s charts???

The only song for me that i can’t decide which one is better (probably equal for me) is their amazing Trick!! :D I love those two songs so much! Pop perfection!!

Nice performances. Way better performance of “Oh!” is the their Music Japan performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQD1CFgzZCM&feature=player_embedded Except from the main part of chorus all other lines were live by all the girls. I really can’t wait for their single “Flower Power” and their japanese album! Plus Korean comeback in the end of October ;) My body is ready!!!
