Guru Adam Lambert teaches meditation techniques in “Better Than I Know Myself”

Y’all know that I love me some Adam Lambert like a love song (baybeh!). I often fantasize about dating him. and then later f&^%ing him, “Better Than I Know Myself” is one of my fave songs at the moment, and my crush on the Idol rocker is so big that I was too shy to get my copy of For Your Entertainment signed when he did an in-store appearance near my house a while back.
But I just can’t get down with his new music video.
With the help of some slapped together Windows Movie Maker effects, Glambert gives us a look at the two different sides of his persona in “Better Than I Know Myself”. There’s the perfectly styled yuppie with a glossy pout who spends his time meditating and sipping herbal tea inside an oxygen tent, and the perfectly styled rocker with the smokey eyes who squishes hearts in his bare hands and downs liquor from the bottle.
It sounds hilarious and tongue-in-cheek, right? Wrong. The soapy acting and Glambert’s hammy facial expressions makes the entire thing look unintentionally hilarious and corny. Much like the For Your Entertainment, it’s hard to tell if this is supposed to be dead serious, or is just a bad joke that nobody else but Glambert gets.
Please don’t hate me for this scathing assessment, Glambert — we can still be together, right?
