Get ready for Sky Ferreira’s ‘Ghost’ EP

I wasn’t so blown away by Sky Ferreira‘s “Red Lips” reinvention, but you best believe that I’m feenin’ for her upcoming Ghost EP.
The 5-track set drops on October 16, and the music video for promotional track “Everything is Embarrassing” was released earlier this week through Pitchfork (coz Sky’s indie now, remember?).
If the flaw-free spacey sound of “Everything is Embarrassing” reminds you of a certain Knowles sister’s recent comeback track, then that’s because both tunes were produced by Dev Hynes. Yeah, they’re super similar, but there’s no denying that both “Everything Is Embarrassing” and “Losing You” are certified wig snatchers. Just think of them as the alt-pop versions of “TiK ToK” and “California Gurls”. (but for the record, “Everything is Embarrassing” is totally way better.)
The music video for Ghost‘s official single “Sad Dream” is scheduled to drop the same day as the EP. No specific details on the track have been revealed yet, but Sky’s worked on Ghost with Fiona Apple collaborator Jon Brion, indie singer-songwriter Cass McCombs, Greg Kurstin, and Ariel Rechtshaid (Charli XCX, No Doubt, Usher), so you know it’s gonna be good.
Get excited.
