From Paris to the Dirty South: Yelle Get a Little Hood On New Single “L’Amour Parfait”

Has Yelle been sippin’ on the sizzurp? Eatin’ a little too much swagu and swaghetti, perhaps? Because the French trio’s new single, “L’Amour Parfait,” sounds like Madeline and Miss Clavel got lost in the hood and decided to stay.
I’m really not kidding. ”L’Amour Parfait,” actually opens with snakey synthesizers and a trap beat. It then takes a turn into the synth-pop sound that we’re used to from Yelle, except that it’s been dialed down to the slow speed of a lethargic stoner. Obviously, it’s still a pop song (is it Yelle, after all), but with a few minor tweaks and a rapper on top, it wouldn’t sound out of place on the new A$AP Rocky album.
When a classy French stripper makes it clap, she does it to this song.
Look out for the ”L’Amour Parfait” to hit digital retailers on February 11.
