Former Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones delivers the worst performance of the year
With the Pussycat Dolls now staging a comeback, it was only natural that the defining Kaya Jones would crawl out of the woodwork once again.
Kaya who, you ask? This iconic fame-hungry diva was an original member of PCD, stupidly ditching the group right before they hit the big time with “Don’t Cha” in a decision that I’m sure still haunts her to this day. She then went on to launch a solo career, snatching Scherzinger’s wig with a scathing diss record aimed at the former PCD Queen titled “Hollywood Doll”. Sadly, nobody was really interested in Kaya’s shady quest for stardom, so she hightailed it to Belgium and set the dance floor alight with her club smash “Take It Off”.
Kaya’s now returned to the spotlight once again with a brand new single, “Release The Energy”, and thanks to her *marvelous talent*, she managed to worm her way onto ABC’s morning news in Chicago to ‘perform’ the future flop at 5:53am.
With the likes of Rihanna and Britney roaming arenas across the globe, we’ve seen some pretty dire performances this year, but none can match this one. For the entire song, poor Kaya just stands there stiff as a board, clutching tightly to her mic stand and trying to lip-sync as the high-energy electro tune blasts behind her. There are a few moments when she tries to move around a bit — for example, at one point she gingerly tilts her head to the side. The rest of the performance is filled with awkward smiles towards the ABC cameras and a few deer in the headlights glances.
Poor Kaya. I was really hoping that she’d return and finally end Nicole’s reign of terror once and for all!
At least Kaya’s back in the press, making headlines over the past week by telling tabloid rag Star magazine that Nicole’s been miming to her voice, or something along those ridiculous lines.
I dislike Flopzinger as much as the next person, but even I know that shit ain’t true!
