Florence + the Machine performs “Spectrum” on Good Morning America

Florence + the Machine are killing it right now. The band just scored the first No. 1 single of their career back home with the Calvin Harris remix of “Spectrum”, which is currently on track to spend a second consecutive week at the top of the UK chart summit.

They’re hoping to repeat that success in the States, with Flawless Flo appearing on Good Morning America yesterday to perform the song, along with “Shake It Out”, to promote her band’s upcoming North American tour.

Flo just came off a vocal injury which caused her to temporarily lose 3 octaves in her voice, but you wouldn’t know it from these performances. Bitch slayed it, as usual!

The performances don’t seem to have helped “Spectrum” on US iTunes (it’s currently outside of the top 200), but with Ellie Goulding’s slow-burning success with “Lights”, there’s still plenty of hope that “Spectrum” could crossover and become an international hit for Flo.

The Hot 100 needs more Florence.

“The Hot 100 needs more Florence.” Truer words were never spoken.

So happy for her finally getting a No1 single not that that’s anything bad since her albums do so well but I’m kind of baffled about it being “Spectrum” hitting the top spot. I haven’t got anything against it, It’s good but IMO “What the water gave me”, “Shake it out”, “No Light, No Light” and “Never let me go” are all a bit better :P
Having said that I prefer this live version over the studio version, more success for Flo PLEASE and a new album from Bat for Lashes ~_~

Very happy that Florence is still promoting this album in the states, instead of letting it free fall (like some people) to platinum status. Also, I hope that “Breaking Down” becomes a single or something close over here, I love that song!! :)
