Rapper B.o.B. has unleashed his inner action hero for the artwork to his debut album B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The album is expected to do well when it hits stores on April 27th thanks to the success of it’s hit single “Nothin’ On You”, which so far has reached the top on the rap charts and the Hot 100.

The cover is pretty badass and explosive, but really it’s got nothin’ on the greatest action movie of all time, Barb Wire!

In the biggest “who the f**k didn’t see this coming” moment of the year, Mariah Carey’s upcoming remix album Angels Advocate has officially been shelved and tossed onto the scrap heap next to the Taiwanese advance copies of Flopzinger’s Her Name Is Nicole.

I won’t bore you with all the abysmal chart placings of the five combined singles from Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and Angels Advocate, but just know that besides the Platinum-certified “Obsessed” the rest bombed big time.

Never one to bow out gracefully though, Mariah is already plotting her next move and trying to decide between releasing a brand new studio album, or another Christmas record.

“We are looking to go possibly to another studio album or Christmas album,” announced Mariah’s manager Chris Lighty. “The decision hasn’t been totally made yet. It’s a creative process that cannot be rushed.” {source}

Lighty is also promising that some more singles may be released from Angels Advocate and that it won’t completely “go to waste”, but I’d say the likelihood of that actually happening is about the same as Carmit Bachar being elected the mayor of Milwaukee.

Mariah honey, a new album is not the answer to your problems. Chill out for a while, get inspired, do some acting, paint a picture and do an arts and crafts course and then come back in the future because your last two albums were not the business! Sometimes less is more!

British singer-songwriter Kate Nash has released the arty-artwork for her upcoming sophomore album My Best Friend Is You, which drops April.

The 22-year-old has often drawn comparisons to the outspoken Lily Allen, and she should expect them to continue after she recently ranted about The Pussycat Dolls in a new interview, claiming that the girl group are a bad influence on children.

“Young kids should be taught about sex but they shouldn’t be taught to be sexy. It’s really distasteful.” What does she make of bands like the Pussycat Dolls, with their pre-teen fanbase and overtly sexual image? Nash rolls her eyes. “They’re called Pussy. Cat. Dolls,” she says with incredulous emphasis. “You don’t need to say anything else really. It’s encouraging sexualisation and sexuality in young kids, and I think that’s a bit weird. When I was young I was listening to the Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child. I was singing ‘Independent Woman’ and ‘Survivor’, and it was all about Girl Power and being with your friends. I don’t think I was singing, ‘Don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?’” {source}

Moving on now, Kate has delivered an acoustic performance of her new single “Doo Wah Doo”, which will also be out in April. I can’t wait to see the song performed properly, but for now this will do.

Drake’s new single “Over” made a huge debut on the Hot 100 last week by storming in straight to No. 35, but the Boi-1da produced track wasn’t originally intended to be the first single from his highly-anticipated debut Thank Me Later.

The first single was, at one point, scheduled to be the Omen produced “Shut It Down” featuring The-Dream, which thankfully just made it’s way online today.

The smoldering ode to female confidence comes off like a cross between a sexy old-school Prince jam and “Houstalantavegas” from Drake’s So Far Gone mixtape, and focuses more on Drake’s R&B side rather than the harder Hip-Hop feel of “Over”.

“This song is sort of like an anthem for women, like pre-the club.” says Drake of the track. “It’s like an anthem for you to be at your house with your girlfriends getting ready, what you listen to before you get there. It’s a song for the non-famous woman to make her feel special and just to let you know that even though I’m up here and have the option to mingle wtih these ‘upper-echelon’ women, if you will, that sometimes I’d rather be with the girl from back home or a student or a girl that works at Wal-Mart. They don’t have to be a star or rich or anything like that; that’s kind of the gist of the song. It’s an empowering song for all women.”

This song is so smooth that I actually wouldn’t be surprised if it gets sent out as the next single so it can chart high on the R&B side of things whilst “Over” handles the Hip-Hop charts.

Singer, songwriter and total teenage mega-babe Gabriella Cilmi is strutting her way through Europe at the moment to promote her new single “On a Mission”, stopping by Swiss TV show Benissimo for another one of her sexy, Barbarella inspired performances.

Gabby’s sophomore album Ten was just released, and she’s currently in the process of trying to decide what the second single from it will be. She’ll also be back in Australia soon to promote the album, and there’s even talk of her going on tour down under.

Christmas has come early for Keisha Buchanan this year, who is bound to be overjoyed with today’s news that the Sugababes new album Sweet 7 has tanked in the UK albums charts at a dismal #14, making it the bands worst debut in a decade.

The all new ‘Sugababes’ aren’t just flopping in the UK either, with Sweet 7 debuting at #35 in Ireland, which is again their worst debut in a decade over there.

That’s OK though, because at least the girls have some successful singles. Oh wait, they don’t, because their electro-pop jam “Wear My Kiss” has just plummeted down to #24 on the singles chart after only three weeks of release.

This is now the second Sugababes album in a row to flop after the disastrous Catfights & Spotlights barely scraped into the top 10 back in 2008.

Looking at the bands current lack of success it’s almost hard to believe that they were once named as the most success all-female act of the 21st century in the UK by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Oh well!

Anyways if you’re one of the few fans of the Sugababes 4.0 you can check out a new performance of the trio performing “Wear My Kiss”. It comes with an interview in which Amelle says that people will like the album and line-up if they like “live music”, because they are “singers and songwriters”, obviously forgetting the fact that they didn’t write any of the songs on Sweet 7 and that a lot of the tracks are heavily auto-tuned.

I was bored today so I was nonchalantly perusing through the whopping seven entries in Heidi Montag’s “make a music video to one of my songs and win fifty bucks” competition, when I stumbled across the most amazing homemade video since Kari Ann Peniche’s stunning ‘U & Me & Tiger Makes 3′.

Although the pimply brats who directed and starred in this clip don’t look like they’ve even made it out of Junior High yet, they have no problem reciting some of the classiest lines from Heidi’s sleaze anthem ‘I’ll Do It’, such as “Come and eat my panties off of me” and “put your key in my ignition”.

Heidi’s musical magic is influencing impressionable pubescent teens across the world!

The future Oscar winners also display some of the most sublime film-making techniques since Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, using a see-saw to simulate sex and flashing around Vladimir Nabokov’s infamous novel Lolita (since when is Lolita appropriate for school reading material!).

Justin Timberlake’s riding high on the charts with Timbaland on “Carry Out”(#11 Hot 100 this week), but the 29-year-old is still waiting for that elusive burst of inspiration that’s going to send him back into the studio to record his long-awaited third studio album.

“I know from past experience that I put out my best stuff when it became undeniable that that was the only thing I was meant to be doing,” he says.

“Right now, I feel inspired by other things. The idea of doing a record to me is like climbing Mount Everest, and it should be. I think that until dreams about music start overpowering my sleep, I’m not going to think about it.”

Has he even any idea what style he’d like to pursue next? “I didn’t necessarily plan for the last album to sound so…” He pauses. “I didn’t plan the bravado. It’s something I played up on the records, but it wasn’t exactly who I was.

“But it was fun, and I think it was fun for everyone else too,” says Justin. “I try to approach music as a fan and remove myself from whatever my image might be to people. That’s what music should be. It can be a lot of things, but if it’s not fun, there’s no purpose.” {source}

Besides invading gas stations across America with her muscular legs, the Queen B is also working on her next album, which paparazzi gossip site X-17 are exclusively claiming will be “more energetic” than her last album Circus, and like “Blackout times 100″.

“Right after this year’s Grammy Awards, Britney met with all of the producers for her next album to explain the vibe she’s looking to capture. Brit, who is co-writing many of the songs, explained that she’s looking to give the new album a vibe like the song ‘Get Naked’ from Blackout.”

They also mentioned that Britney is working with Blackout producers Bloodshy & Avant, Danja and Corte Ellis so she can recreate the vibe of the album again.

I’d trust X-17 about as far as I could throw them (not very), but I figured I’d put the rumors out there then combine prayer with positive thinking in hopes of making them a reality!

First there was Cheryl, and then Nadine, and now the crazy alcoholic member of Girls Aloud, Sarah Harding, has announced that she will also release her own solo album.

“I’m starting my album now but I don’t know what theme of music to go for. I want to step away from pop.

“I would love it to be something like Lady Gaga. She can really sing and perform. In the band we all have a say but we have to compromise. Now I can do exactly what I want.” {source}

The 28-year-olds solo aspirations aren’t actually much of a surprise since she’s been working on an acting career for a while now, and last year she recorded a few songs for the soundtrack to one of her flicks St Trinians II.

I can’t exactly picture a Sarah Harding solo album having much success, but hey, stranger things have happened.
