Emily Osment tries her hand at pop stardom with “Let’s Be Friends” video.

Demi Lovato has gone all R&B, Selena Gomez is spinning round and round, and Miley Cyrus can’t be tamed, and now Hannah Montana sidekick Emily Osment shows that she wants in on the action too with the release of her new music video “Let’s Be Friends”.

Emily actually released an unsuccessful EP of pop-rock tunes last year, but since it bombed her label have obviously realized that pop-rock isn’t exactly lighting up the charts in today’s post-GaGa world, so they’ve shamelessly ripped off Britney’s hit “Radar” for “Let’s Be Friends” in the hopes of turning Emily into a tween dance diva.

I don’t exactly know how passionate Emily is about her pop career, but she does an ample job of convincing us that she cares in the “Let’s Be Friends” music video, delivering a sassy, attitude-filled performance.

Too bad for Emily then that she’s all but destined to forever remain the LaToya to Miley’s Janet.

However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, with Emily recently announcing that the brilliant Nellee Hooper (Gwen Stefani, Bjork, Madonna) will be producing her new album, so you can guarantee that she’ll have at least a few good tracks worth checking out.

Enjoy Emily Osment while you can. She’s said that she has no current plans for music after this album, and she’s already enrolled in college to begin studying physics next year.

This is the most blatant Radar rip off I’ve heard. But it’s still not bad since Radar was a hot song to begin with.

  • JayCred

I don’t hear Radar, I hear Bad Influence from Pink. It’s a pretty good song for a Disney singer. I will also say as much as I love Miley’s music that Emily has a much better voice.

It’s kinda lame some of you think just cause she’s a child star that she isn’t smart which I’m sure she is. There should be praise that she’s actually trying to better herself.

is it me or does she actually sound a little like miley?

  • Andres

I don’t like Miley or Selena or Emily..but I admit that Emily have more talent in one finger (as singer, songwriter and guitar player) than Miley & Selena..and shits all over they stuff..but the teen girls that shit all over the disney girls, nickelodeon girls and Taylor Swift are Sky Ferreira, Taylor Momsen and Demi Lovato (even she is from Disney she also shit all over them)
