Emily Osment tries her hand at pop stardom with “Let’s Be Friends” video.

Demi Lovato has gone all R&B, Selena Gomez is spinning round and round, and Miley Cyrus can’t be tamed, and now Hannah Montana sidekick Emily Osment shows that she wants in on the action too with the release of her new music video “Let’s Be Friends”.
Emily actually released an unsuccessful EP of pop-rock tunes last year, but since it bombed her label have obviously realized that pop-rock isn’t exactly lighting up the charts in today’s post-GaGa world, so they’ve shamelessly ripped off Britney’s hit “Radar” for “Let’s Be Friends” in the hopes of turning Emily into a tween dance diva.
I don’t exactly know how passionate Emily is about her pop career, but she does an ample job of convincing us that she cares in the “Let’s Be Friends” music video, delivering a sassy, attitude-filled performance.
Too bad for Emily then that she’s all but destined to forever remain the LaToya to Miley’s Janet.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, with Emily recently announcing that the brilliant Nellee Hooper (Gwen Stefani, Bjork, Madonna) will be producing her new album, so you can guarantee that she’ll have at least a few good tracks worth checking out.
Enjoy Emily Osment while you can. She’s said that she has no current plans for music after this album, and she’s already enrolled in college to begin studying physics next year.
