Ellie Goulding to return with ‘Halcyon’ in October

Ellie Goulding is set to return with her long-awaited sophomore album Halcyon on October 8.

When I heard this, I was all like, “wtf is a halcyon?”. Then I Googled and learned that it’s a mythical bird.

Now aren’t you glad that I didn’t title this post “ELLIE GOULDING SET TO SOAR WITH HALCYON” or “ELLIE GOULDING TO SPREAD HER WINGS ON HALCYON”?

Speaking about the album, Ellie tweeted: “I’m so incredibly proud of this record, I really can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

Halcyon will be preceded by its first single called “Anything Could Happen” on September 30.

    Think she might be using the word as an adjective (i.e., denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful). Or maybe it’s a double entendre considering her hair!
