British indie-pop princess Ellie Goulding premiered the music video for her latest single “The Writer” earlier today.
“The Writer” is the most personal and emotional song I’ve written yet. It’s about how you’d do anything and change absolutely everything about yourself if necessary, just to be noticed by this one person.”
The clip for the pretty ballad is filled with lots of pretty things. A pretty Ellie runs through a pretty field, explores a pretty lighthouse, sings illuminated by a pretty white light, and shines thanks to a very pretty lip gloss.

“The Writer” is the fourth single to be lifted from Ellie’s chart topping debut album Lights.
