Donna Summer returns to rule the clubs with new single “To Paris With Love”.

Legendary disco diva Donna Summer is back and ready to snatch wigs with the release of her brand new single “To Paris With Love” this week.

Enlisting the services of DJ/Producer Peter Stengaard, Donna has created a chic and dreamy dance track that perfectly captures the spirit of the city itself. OK, I haven’t actually been to Paris before, so technically I wouldn’t know, but the romanticized version of it that I have in my mind is pretty much like what’s in this song.

“To Paris with Love” is distinctly European with a beautiful retro vibe, and Donna’s vocals sound just as inviting and enchanting as they did 20-30 years ago. You could even say that it’s the best thing she’s done in years.

Of course, a Donna Summer single without remixes would be about as boring as watching Clay Aiken live in concert, so I’ve included the WaWa Edit and the Mendy Edit in the post. Both mixes match the magic of the original, and are sure to continue the winning streak that Donna had on the Billboard Club Charts with her 2008 comeback album Crayons, which scored her three consecutive No. 1s.

Look out for two new Donna Summer albums coming up. The first will be an all out dance album, and the second is scheduled to be a standards record.

Check out “To Paris With Love” and it’s amazing remixes below via ONTD.

That picture is terribly airbrushed. It’s amazing what we ‘try’ to look like..

Anyway, I really like the song. It’s very relaxing :) . Looking forward to her album now, though I must admit I can’t recall ever hearing of her before now.

  • http://www.theprophetblog.net The Prophet

The pic is airbrushed but she’s like 61 so… lol.

Donna Summer is one of the most famous and iconic females in music history. She pretty much single handedly changed music and she’s sold about 130 million worldwide.

  • reone

Yeah, I read her Wiki :) . Her name does sound a little familiar. Seems like I know of her work, but not her, since I’ve definitely heard “She Works Hard for the Money” and some of her other songs. Either way, I realize she’s getting up there lol. She sounds good.

  • JayCred

On the Radio is actually one of my favorite songs speaking of which lol.

As for this song, it’s much better than the Crayons CD. I’m a Fire was the closest to her old self.

GREAT POST! and i was skeptial as hell. IF you don’t know Donna Summer you need to hear two songs “I Feel Love” (its a classic forever) and “Love To Love You Baby”. But you are guaranteed to love “I Feel Love” :)

  • http://www.mygossip565.com Mygossip565dotcom

She needs to let it go. She had 2 hit songs its time to let it go.

@Mygossip564dotcom. You’re an idiot. She’s the 7th highest selling female singer in the world with 21 #1 hits on the various Billboard charts. Get a life! PS: The new song is amazing!!!

  • KingBeaArthur

    *sighs*

I’m on the fence with this one. I love Donna so…hopefully this song is a grower

  • FrankB

Donna Summer is one of the most versatile and influential artists of our lifetime. Love the new song and wish her much success. I will always be in line to hear that voice (which BTW always speaks to my soul).

  • TS

Love the WaWa remix. This better get The Queen yet another #1 club hit!

Okay, it’s inevitable that not everyone is going to love this song, but let me say, if you don’t know who Donna Summer is and you think she’s only had 2 hit songs, I’d say you’re just talking just to be heard. Before Madonna and Lady Gaga, there was Donna Summer and she still is around. Not as popular, but still here, nonetheless. The versatilty of her voice and musical styles has made her one of the most respected female artists of our time. I’m so in love with her actress approach to a song. Love it!!

  • http://www.theprophetblog.net The Prophet

Yes, Donna is truly a legend! And this new song (and remixes) are incredible.

  • lovefor

if you want to go to heaven, listen DONNA SUMMER. Amazing song!

  • Johnny Summer

THE QUEEN IS SO GREAT AT WHAT SHE DOES, WHICH IS SINGING A SONG LIKE THE MUSIC CALLS FOR. DONNA IS HOT HOT!!!!!! WE ARE IN NEED OF SOME SERIOUS TALENT IN THE WORLD AND DONNA BRINGS IT…….

  • http://www.mygossip565.com Mygossip565dotcom

@Russn and how long ago was that??? 30 years??? As i said she needs to let it go. This song is like a very slow song yet she wants this song to be for the summer??? People would be better off hearing Sherly Crows Soak up The Sun.

  • JohnnyG

565, if you’d bothered to read the article you’re responded to, it mentions her last album in 2008 spawned 3 #1 dance chart hits. And Paris will probably be another #1. As for her age, you’d have no idea how old she is from just listening to this, so what difference does it make? Only an airhead would judge an artist by their age anyway.

  • John

Beautiful breezy spring/summer song from the one & only Donna Summer; icon, singer-songwriter, artist, legend.

Wishing Ms Summer all the best with “To Paris With Love” plus the forthcoming dance & standards albums.

  • dirkandi

Usually I get angry with stupid people but your ignorance mygossip 565 only makes me laugh!!Why waste our time if you have no idea what you’re talking about?Donna Summer wrote musical history and after all these years in the business is still highly respected and one of the best singers in the world. If you don’t like her or don’t even know who she is(which tells me everything about your musical horizon)why bother writing here?
Personally I just love, love, love the song, puts me into a great mood!!

  • zetvierzehn

Donna Summer can be credited – in conjuction with her producer Giorgio Moroder – with the invention of electronic disco: the songstress’ hit “I Feel Love” essentially paved the way for the future of dance music. With 14 number-one hits, five Grammys, six American music awards and 130 million albums sold worldwide, Donna Summer has written music history.

  • Chris K

Loving this song and loving the remixes! Donna Summer’s voice is pure magic and you can tell she has respected her “instrument” as a true gift. Can’t wait for more new music from her! She has always been #1 in my song book!

  • Jimmmie

(To MyGossip565): A summer song does not have to be an upbeat song. Nonetheless, there are upbeat remixes for it as well. Love ya!

  • http://www.mygossip565.com Mygossip565dotcom

To all you ignorant people. I am not dissing Donna because of her age i am not dissing Donna because of what she has done. I know about her i am not a big fan what i am saying is simply i don’t like the song. Which you all have turned it into somehow that i hate her. I don’t like her song plain and simple never was a big fan i have nothing against Donna. Don’t be twisting my words. And i said that her biggest hit was 30 years ago i didn’t say she didn’t have hits after that. Now anything else questions, comments, and or concerns???

  • Jimmie

    Yes, MyGossip565. I have comments:

You said that she had 2 hit songs and that it’s time to let it go? Your comment implies that she’s had ONLY 2 hit songs. You also imply that if an aritst has 2 hit songs then they should hang it up after that. I’m assuming although you said what you said, you didn’t mean to imply what I have suggested you were implying, right?

You also said that “To Paris, With Love” is like a very slow song YET she wants it to be for the summer. Is there a law that states that songs for the summer HAVE to be fast songs? Even further, as I stated before, there are upbeat remixes for the song, so if a summer song HAS to be upbeat, it would still apply as a summer song. Although, I’m sure a song for the summer does not have to be a fast song.

If you don’t like the song, that certainly is fine. We all like what we like. Just know that what I have said to you is only in response to what your words seem to imply. I mean, if you don’t like the song, why not just say that? Why add that she needs to hang it up? She’s a singer. She sings. It’s what she does for a living and she actually LOVES doing it. People who have a passion for what they do don’t usually hang it up until they want to. Still love ya!

  • Jimmie

@MyGossip565: Oh, and her biggest hit was 30 years ago? Which hit would that be? I don’t think her biggest hit was in 1980. However, I MIGHT be wrong on that.

  • Xman37

Oh Donna… There you go again, slamming us with yet another amazing song:) I love it!!! Anyone out there that doesnt know this womans work should pick up “The Journey” All her hits! Its HOT!!! The best dance songs ever recorded! She paved the way for every dance artist out there! TO PARIS WITH LOVE, is trully a trip back to play land:) Go get em Donna!!

    The song is truly magnificent.
And, Donna, “After all of the lovers in my life… you still be the one…”

  • JEFF

I’m not one to write comments in these type of blogs. However, I feel I must. I have Been a Donna Summer Fan All My life (Well Most Of It). I remember my earlier years being a sad child, and I remember Hearing Heaven Knows on the radio and fell in love with the artists at that very moment, I didn’t even know it was Donna at the time, But from that day forth she has always been my #1 artists in my collection for 32 straight years and I’m so grateful to have had this women in my life, even if she doesn’t know who I am. I Thank the heavens above for bring her into this world to share with us only few people can. DONNA IF YOU SHOULD EVER READ THIS—————– THANK YOU!

Now on a lighter side, I would like to thank all the people who wrote in this blog and comment, as I read each and EVERY one, I couldn’t help but to smile, and in some cases laugh, so with that I thank You All.

  • http://www.theprophetblog.net The Prophet

What do you mean “these type of blogs”?

  • BadBoy!

This song is O.K. but I don’t think it’s a top ten hit!

  • Jimmie

(To Bad Boy): That’s okay. It doesn’t have to be a top ten hit. However, it still could be even though you think it’s not:) At least, it did make the top 5 on Itune’s dance albums chart.

  • mario maldonado alvarado

OUR REAL QUEEN AND DANCE DIVA; DONNA SUMMER IS TOTALLY BACK WITH THIS SONG, ONE THAT REMINDS US OF WHAT SHE BEST KNOWS TO DO, WHEN IT COMES TO DELIVER A VERY SEXY SONG, MY DIVA, MY QUEEN AS I REALLY WANTED TO LISTEN TO HER SINGING!!!

  • Tom Stewart

I have said it before, I will say it again, this lady is in Garland’s league. God has had his hand on her from the git-go. She has the voice of an “Angel”…

  • Jimmie

(To Tom Stewart): Donna has said that she heard the voice of God.

Summer was the first artist to score three consecutive number-one double albums.
Summer was twice honored by the Dance Music Hall of Fame; once with her induction as a recording artist and again with the induction for her influential single “I Feel Love”.[6]
Summer’s music career has landed her as the eighth most successful female recording artist in history according to Billboard[citation needed].
Summer’s career span of Billboard number-one Disco/Club Play hits spans from 1975′s “Love to Love You Baby” through 2009′s “Fame (The Game)”.
Summer was nominated for 2010 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but was not chosen.[7]
    [edit]Cover versions by other artists

Summer’s recording of “I Feel Love” is one of the most sampled recordings.[citation needed] The song was sampled by Madonna, Whitney Houston, Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Moloko, Britney Spears, Robbie Williams, Darren Hayes, Mylo, David Guetta, Stuart Price, Moby and many more. “I Feel Love” was recorded by classical pop musician Vanessa-Mae for her 1998 album Storm. Even Italian company Gucci used a special version of it in his “Flora” perfume advertising, filmed by Chris Cunningham .
Summer’s “Love to Love You Baby” was also sampled by Beyoncé Knowles “Naughty Girl”
“I Feel Love” has been covered onstage by Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante, Kylie Minogue, Blondie, Basement Jaxx, and Finnish progressive rock band Kingston Wall. Venus Hum with Blue Man Group also performed this song with Japanese singer Kumi Koda for their album The Complex, and in 2006, Tracy Bonham stood in for Hum on the Blue Man Group tour, performing the song. Bronski Beat and Marc Almond released the track as a duet with an added bridge section and titled it “I Feel Love/Johnny Remember Me”, reaching number 3 in the UK charts in April 1985.[8] In 1992 U.K. alterna-pop group Curve recorded a version for the NME’s 40th anniversary compilation Ruby Trax, which became an instant underground classic. Madonna’s production team sampled this for her 2006 Confessions Tour and album, Confessions On A Dance Floor. “I Feel Love” was covered by French Canadian artist Jorane for her 2004 album The You and the Now. LA based band Dengue Fever covered this song on their album Radio Dance Floor. “Future Lovers” contains a sample of “I Feel Love”. Kylie Minogue’s team also sampled this for her 2002 KylieFever. Kylie performed “Light Years” which contains elements of “I Feel Love”.
Summer’s “Starting Over Again” was a number one hit on the Hot Country Songs chart for Dolly Parton in 1980. Reba McEntire named her 1995 album after the song, and her version hit number 17 on the country singles chart in 1996.
Summer’s “On the Radio” was covered by country artist Emmylou Harris for her 1983 album White Shoes. British singer and actress Martine McCutcheon recorded a version that reached number 7 in the UK charts in February 2001.[8] An acoustic rendition was released by alt. rock band Hypnogaja in January 2010.

Summer’s “Love Is in Control” was covered by pop singer Sheena Easton on her 2000 disco album Fabulous.
In 1985 Dusty Springfield reached number 83 on the UK charts with a cover of “Sometimes like Butterflies”.
Summer’s “Heaven Knows” was recorded by Faith Evans for inclusion on the soundtrack for the film, The Fighting Temptations.
Summer’s “The Woman In Me” was recorded by Heart in the early 1990s.
Summer’s “She Works Hard For The Money” was often performed by Millie Jackson during her mid-1980s concerts. “She Works Hard For The Money” was covered by Kris Allen during an American Idol Season 8 episode and recorded by Allen for the American Idol Season 8 CD.
Summer’s “Last Dance” and “She Works Hard For The Money” are often included in concerts given by Mary Wilson.

dear MyGossip565 before to open your mouth you have to connect the brain and if just you do not succeed, connected to wikipedia !

I love this new single. I wish more info were available regarding the two new albums.

As for the remixes, there are ten in all (for a total of 18 tracks, including dubs and radio edits). You can get the non-commercial ones (for DJs only) on http://www.masterbeat.com. And, no, I do not work for them or get a kickback from them…I just love dance music and they’re the only ones that get the hard-to-find remixes.

Mygossip565………..I read your comments and it is very apparent that you are not a fan of Donna’s and you seem to be the ignorant one. (who really cares what you think) But you should not make a comment that you clearly do not know anything about. Especially the artist. Donna has many hits in her career as ”biomacbiomac” has displayed above my comment. I’ve been a fan of hers since 1976. She is the supreme goddess in the dance music world. I am going to assume that you must be young or out of touch with our legendary seasoned artists.
Before Lady Gaga/Britney/Katy Perry and Madonna etc. there was Donna who set the mark in disco/dance music. I hope she gets in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this time. She deserves it.
Her new song ”To Paris With Love” sounds great!!!! It will be another hit on the dance charts as always. Fast fact: Donna is the only artist to have a #1 dance hit for the last 4 decades. Her music will last forever. Bye Bye now.

Donna Summer is a musical legend and she will never be forgotten as long as people talk about dance music. As someone who has been a fan for over 30 years, I can tell you that the Seventies saw a lot of great singers who were laid to waste by the music business and the changing taste, racism, and sexism of Americans toward dance music. Donna Summer not only survived this crap in America but transcended it. She wrote “THE” book on what it means to be a diva who takes no prisoners. She has inspired many on and off the dance floors of the world with her talent. She is the Goddess of dance music with a voice unmatched for the ages. Folks should indeed cross themselves before and after they mention this woman’s name.
