David Cook taps the usual suspects for new album, Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and more on board
American Idol winner David Cook has began writing and recording his sophomore album (third album overall), and he’s enlisted the industry’s most used & abused to help him out.
Collaborators on the album will include Avril Lavigne co-writer Chantal Kreviazuk, David Hodges formerly of Evanescence, Claude Kelly, Max Martin, and Ryan Tedder. {source}
One interesting fact is that all of the people mentioned above have previously worked with American Idol contestants, most multiple times.
David also mentioned that instead of building the album all around guitars it will instead be more piano based.
I thought that David’s last album was pretty good, and so did the buying public since it sold 1.3 million copies in the US, but he’s going to have to be careful this time around to make sure that he doesn’t disappear amongst all the Kris Allen’s and Daughtry’s.
The album is currently due out mid 2010.

oh i hope his stuff will be great and won’t be copycat songs. man tedder is working with too many artists right now. should we start taking bets as to how many of his songs will sound the same as his previous songs??
Max martin has been working with lots of american idol contestants. Im afraid he might lose it’s magic pop for britney =(
Well Max did Quitter for Carrie and that was a really catchy fun song and a different sound for him so I have faith.
As for Tedder…. Ew.
finally tedder working with him don’t jude tedder you know that deep inside you love his songs and the same with redone even they are all rip off of theirselfs jajajaja.
Well I hope he doesn’t end too much pop cuz his voice and him belongs to pop and hope to he became like Daughtry in a sucessfull way.

OMG so unoriginal! Ryan Tedder over exposure…… Max Martin is borderline, Claude Kelly is amazing, Toby Gad is cool, Chris Braide is cool, Cathy Dennis is cool……but please no more Tedder that man is making the whole pop culture so samey all over the world….. who knew Leona could nose dive like that… these guys at Idol are predictable to say the least.. At least there are still the sky’s, daisy dare’s you’s, ellie goulding’s, diana vickers ‘s and Kylie’s of this world to up the game a bit.
