D. Woods goes independant for debut album “My Favourite Color”

Former Danity Kane star D. Woods is now making moves as an independent artist, announcing that her debut solo album My Favourite Color will drop on April 27, 2010, through her own independent label Woodgrane Music, with Universal Music subsidiary Bonzi Records / Fontana handling the distribution.

Before My Favourite Color hits the shelves D will release another album The Gray Area Experience, which will feature new and exclusive material released individually through iTunes. The lead single from The Gray Area Experience is “Legalize Me” which will be available December 8.

I’ll definitely be buying both albums. D. Woods is grinding really hard for her success, releasing mixtapes and video’s for her fans and building hype the old-fashioned way before she drops her solo album as independent artist.

A lot of other artists should really take note of what D is doing instead of rotting away in bad record deals waiting for their label to do everything for them.

I like her hussle and I wish her well but I really can’t wastee a penny on mediocre/ borderline horrid songs like Legalize me. You’ve got to do better than that D. At the end of the day, anything is better than being under Diddy.

That’s awesome! I hope she actually can gain some success and attention with all this hustlin she’s doin!

But one thing I don’t understand is why isn’t whe with Young Money? Isn’t her sister signed with em? IDK if it was a personal choice or did they didn’t accept her.

Thats so true TJ! She would be fierce on young money. She could be their R&B chick

I like the song alot. This is definitely a hit song. She is going to blow up with this song believe that. I am so glad she is doing it independant. So many artists need to go this route. They are the ones who need to control their music, not a bunch of nobody’s who knows nothing about what type of style of music or don’t care how the artist wants to relate to their fanbase. Go D.Woods you are setting a great standard for female artist.

I know! And now D. Woods on it, even though before that I wikipediad it and Brooke was the only artist.

Brooke is signed to them tho, fontana are only doing distribution for D.

“But one thing I don’t understand is why isn’t whe with Young Money?”

Maybe she’s sick of being under a label’s thumb. You put your heart and soul into producing your best, and then they don’t release it, choose the wrong singles, push backs, etc.

And how successful is her sister? I’ve never heard of her, personally. I’ll be getting D Woods’ album because her first mixtape was great!

I did not like this song until the video came out, and now I love it. D.wood is smart make all the money for yourself, and not someone else. Diddy tried to rob you of your talent by letting Dawn take all the credit for the group’s work. Dawn reminds him of Kim – Que can forget about their relationship together. Day 26 talked a lot of trash , now look at them. Cassie is out too after opening up her legs to the boss. I am happy for you and I hope everyone support you. You are trying to make it out on your own without sleeping with anyone and using your own money. People needs to stop asking why you are not on cash money. Your sister is nasty and you are not. You do have talent and your album will sell. Good luck.
