D E N A’s “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools” is simply the best

On first glance, it’s hard to tell if D E N A‘s “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools” is so bad it’s good, or just plain good. After sitting on D E N A’s viral hit for a few days, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not just good, but completely amazing.

Over synthy hipster-hop beats and hand claps, the Berlin-based Bulgarian talker drawls about chilling with her friends while dancing her way through a flea market.

“Cash, diamond rings, swimming pools“, she ironically repeats from the inside of a market stall selling knock-off designer perfumes and tacky sequined scarves.

D E N A is already being compared to M.I.A. (albeit, a less self-important M.I.A.), but she’s more like the next Kreayshawn, and “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools” is the new “Gucci Gucci”.

    the song is AMAZING! But she’s weird…like…in a creepy kind of way…I would react exactly like the lady at 1:28 if I ever saw DENA walking around the streets dressed like that and singing “all I want is chill, all I want is chill” xD oh and FYI, M.I.A. is still better than all them bitches out there!

    I disagree. This contains more of the irony and humor of Kreayshawn, without the preachy self-importance that has come to define M.I.A.

    This song is fun & she’s weird as hell but in a fun way & same with her fashion sense & awkward dancing

    But what was that about Kreay & MIA? I’m not sure I can agree but if you were trying to say that Gucci Gucci & Kreay are old news/dead, I totally agree
