Ciara dishes details on Kim Kardashian’s foray into music.
There’s been unconfirmed whispers floating around the net for a while now stating that socialite/reality TV Queen/botox advocate Kim Kardashian has been working on launching a pop career with The-Dream at the helm. Thank God that it’s true, with Ciara confirming the good news to MTV, and admitting that the reason Kimmy decided to become a pop star is because she wants to make a nice, pretty music video.
“She really, really is fascinated with the music-video process and stuff like that. She’s a very, very glamorous girl. She really loves that whole idea, and so she joked about [it] like, ‘I wanna shoot a music video … but I don’t want people to take it too serious. I would just like to have fun with it,’ ” Ciara said.
CiCi then went into more details, spilling all the juice about how The-Dream reached out to Kim to convince her to try her hand at pop stardom.
“Actually Dream had reached out to me too, and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna hit her up.’ I know she talked about music before. She wasn’t all the way sure of it, but I said, ‘Hey, give it a try, go for it. If you like it, you like it. If you don’t, you don’t.’ The cool thing is that you’re able to even experiment with that. Dream is a really, really great producer and writer, so that’s really cool that you get the moment to do that. So go for it. We had a lunch and we talked about it a little bit, and so I think she’s gonna give it a shot.”
Ciara was also kind enough to talk about the direction Kim’s musical style will be — pop! What a shocker.
“I think … she’s gonna have a little pop and I think a little attitude. She’s a girly girl [kind of] girl too, but she still has attitude,” she said. “I think it’s gonna be all that in her music.”
Tricky Stewart has confirmed to MTV that recording has already began, but the specifics are being “kept under lock & key”.
Whatever they have cooking, hurry up and release it, because if there’s one thing pop history has taught us it’s that 80% of the time when an attractive yet talentless model/actress/celebrity launches a pop career, the results are amazing. Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, Holly Valance… Kylie Minogue!
Kim’s former BFF Paris Hilton actually found some success with her self-titled debut, selling 600,000 copies worldwide and scoring a sizable hit with “Stars Are Blind”, which even hit the top twenty of the Billboard Hot 100.
But if Kim wants to sell more copies than Brooke Hogan, then she’ll need some better producers.
