Christina Aguilera’s manager speaks: “No one is giving up on Bionic”.

Over the weekend, some random member of the Digital Spy forum claimed to be a label intern and posted a rumor that Christina Aguilera was planning to leave her label RCA Records in order to sign a new deal with Live Nation. The rumor subsequently spread like wild fire, causing Aggie’s manager Irving Azoff (who doubles as the chairman of Live Nation) to clear the whole mess up, while also denying some previous comments he made about Aggie’s upcoming flick Burlesque which were blown out or proportion.

Christina is under a long term contract with RCA records! Live nation is not a record company.

No one is giving up on ‘Bionic’. ‘You Lost Me’ is coming out in the UK. The video is out here now. You aren’t seeing her as she is finishing ‘Burlesque’. We won’t give up.

Nobody has given up? Coulda fooled me. It probably would’ve been a good move to get Christina to perform, or at least attend, today’s Teen Choice Awards.

As I’ve wondered out loud to myself before, it feels like Aggie’s current strategy is to lay low and let the heat die down, then to re-emerge and utilize a little cross-promotion by using Burlesque to possibly revive Bionic.

    clearly they are all delusional

  • Guide of Horus

Ugh. I am SO OVER HER!!! I miss the old Xtina. This era needs to end and she needs to come and really slay! Nobody wants any more of the flopsical that is ‘Bionic.’

  • Devil Inside

She could have a rerelease if Burlesque does well… But then again, adding more tracks on the already sized album (23 tracks) doesn’t sound a good idea.

I think the Bionic era is almost over, even though it’s a very decent album once you give it a shot.

My personal hint to Xtina: release one more single (a good one this time), drop the attitude, and then get back in the studio to release a new album by Q4 2011.

no. she needs to go away, for a very, very long time

  • hahaha

    why christina called aggie?

  • SunDee

I never give up on Her. It doesn’t matter as long she keep on singing & create what she’s passion about; Music.

I agree that Era is over bionic is cute but for the most part the techno songs are just not for her. The ballads are great. She needs to just work on something else so it can come out next year.

    1. Are we even sure that that is the real Irving Asoff? his account isn’t verrified so it could be some random like the time there was a fake Lil Kim shooting off at Nicki Minaj & Diddi and everybody believed it until (Queen) Kim said on cam it was a fake account.

    2. “Irv” says that Live Nation isn’t a record company but they signed record deals with Madonna, Shakira & U2.

    3. I Agree with @DEVIL INSIDE, she should just release “Woohoo” with a hot video and then get back in the studio with some of the hot producers and come back with a new album by 4th Quater 2011. TBH i think Bionic is her “experimental” album and the next will be more suited to her.

Nah Future it’s real, Billboard confirmed it.

  • Condor

In my opinion this album obviously hasn’t charted as well as she hoped, you could see in her eyes how exited she was that “she’s never done such a fun record like this before”, even if her fans/haters have given up on this era Christina certainly won’t & I for one think she shouldn’t. Christina just needs to be smart like releasing the title track Bionic (which already charted 60-something on the Billboard Hot 100 without the promo, obviously a good sign) instead of being silly and releasing a ballad during the Summer. If Christina can strageticaly pull something out of the bag and win back her true Xtina fans then this era could be saved, it’s up to Christina.

  • tyler

if her first international single was bionic

and woo hoo went to urban radio then second single was desnudate and third single was you lost me or lift me up then this album would have been a smash. i love her attitude tho

  • Gorkie

Cmon! How come you say Bionic era is over?? What?!!

It’s not over. If she releases ballads as the singles, that would be great! “Bionic”, “Prima Donna”, “Desnudate”, (and fucking awesome song) “Lift Me Up”, “I Am”, “I Hate Boys” and “Wohoo”.. All their are hit stuff.

Why it’s the best mainstream album of this year to me? I’m listening to it start to end, and i don’t get bored of it.

  • Bryant

Stick a fork in this lame album and move on trying to push it more is just going to continue digging Christina’s grave…on second thought keep pushing it RCA lol

  • http://twitter.com/FUTURESTARdelux FUTURESTARdelux

@Proph, even if it is the real Irv he might be lying, you know everybody denies everything until the papers are signed.
I’m not sure if she is myself but i’m not happy with the way RCA has handled this :P

  • JayCred

I agree with Gorkie, this is honestly one of my favorite albums of the year.

She needs to go ahead with Woohoo as a single since Nicki is on a rise, use that to your advantage Christina!

Then keep up the urban tracks with Prima Donna and have some fucking amazing choreography.

Fifth single can go to My Girls for a show of versatility and fun. Funky music video, a couple live performances, I could see this song blowing up.

Either release a joint video for Morning Dessert (intro) and Sex for Breakfast or go the safe route with Lift Me Up.

I don’t think she can afford to go with Bionic or Elastic Love since the album is tanking the way it is. But Bionic would be smart since it charted decently.

  • purple crush

bionic is a good album. period.

  • simon

    wohoo is great

  • Nono

    Nicki Minaj
    Just release wohoo
    everyone loves a Nicki Song
and then work on the next album

  • blink_blind

How many albums is she under contract for?

  • Iceberg

    @ Proph

Thanks for posting a beautiful, decent, and gorgeous pic of christina (im so used to seeing you posting pictures christina looking like a witch or suffering diarrhea).

A re-release of you lost me in Fall would revive the album (like pink’s who knew).

I can’t stop listening to Elastic Love; fucking song nice in the car(but you have to have a heavily tinted glass so that your head shake won’t embarrass you in the highway)…

I’m worried for Kanye West, his song didn’t crack the top 20 yet :-(

  • Nono

    @IceBErg
didn’t Kanye’s power debut at number 20 and then fall down

  • Iceberg

Nono: Yep, and it should have gone inside the top20 but it didn’t. I’m disheartened

  • S

I feel sad for her, Bionic is a good album!!

Not Myself Tonight sorta killed it………

  • Devil Inside

What I really don’t understand is why so much labels make such dumb moves on alot of their artists? I always get the feeling that they wanna sabotage their artists rather than helping them….

The industry is sooooo sick imo….

  • Devil Inside

And don’t start that it’s Christina who picks the singles…

Labels pick singles, not the artists.

Even Gaga (who I believe has alot of control in her music/career) couldn’t prevent Alejandro to be the 3th single instead of Dance In The Dark

  • True

i’ve heard the whole album & its good i think she need a couple more singles with a great video and the album could sell. why everyone keep comparing her to lady gaga i don’t know because they are two diferent artist.

  • SunDee

^Just because they are white, blond, & have similar style at 2008. then… BANG!!! all the gun point at her head. SMH…

But yeah you got it right, The album is good! (not as bad as few people talked about). my fav album of her so far.

  • Leo

She needs to release Woohoo with a hot but good video, then Bionic with an (at least) average video and promote it somwhere on TV, then Prima Donna and/or Lift Me Up as promotional singles and then go back to the studio.
I think it was a mistake to release an album the same year as her debut film. She obviously was going to focus on the film…
I hope Bionic gets at least a Gold certification.
