Christina Aguilera’s ‘Bionic’ not due until July… or beyond!

With March now more than halfway through and no lead single in site it was looking less likely by the day that we would be receiving Christina Aguilera’s highly-anticipated fourth album Bionic in April as previously scheduled, and now Rolling Stone magazine have confirmed the news in a new Spring music feature in which they’ve listed Bionic’s release date under the category “July and Beyond.”

I know I know, this news has you scanning your surroundings for sharp objects and tall buildings as you contemplate the quickest possible way to commit suicide, but look on the bright side – the more time she spends perfecting the album the better it will be.

I mean just think about Back to Basics. That album took her four years to make and look how great that turned out… Oh wait… Uh, forget I said anything!

    It may even surpass Stripped – and that was a damn good album…

    I think my favourite song off BTB was Makes Me Wanna Pray.

    A lot of women are rumored or confirmed to be doing new albums but release dates are so up in the air coz its so early.

    Only one thats really certain is like Britney and Janet.

    gosh christina is so slow! why wouldnt u wanna release albums while your young and sexy. Once you hit 40 your career basically dies. Everyone will be saying she’s copying someone because she takes to fucking long to make albums and everyone is one step ahead of her!! Her next CD probly wont come out until she’s like 35 at the pace she’s going.

    christina is not on a level to keep herself relevant, because she is on a superstar-level where she can do whatever she wants…she is an acclaimed star, not one who has to follow trends.

    and who cares about three months…if i could wait 4 years, i’m able to wait three months longer

    on top i dont really count it as a pushback, cause she has no single out….think there are more time schedule problems, so she is able to take her time

    and ali, yes she is still relevant, otherwise she wouldnt have been at the haiti concert and would have done one of the best performances, wouldnt she?

    I don’t even care anymore. It’ll come out when it comes out. Why do people keep saying it’s taking her 4 years. She was on tour through 2007 and had a baby January 2008. I honestly don’t think she started working on the album until the top of 2009. I know the album will be great, so I could care less about waiting. I love B2B by the way. The first disc combined samples and hard hitting beats just like 90′s R&B (my favorite music period) and the second disc was like a 1950′s traditional pop album. Her lyrics were lacking since she was only talking about love, but she more than made up for it with her crazy vocals and the productions. While I love Stripped as well, some of the productions just sounded cheap. Christina could’ve taken the easy route and released a 60s, 70s soul album like Amy, Alicia and Mariah, but that would be too easy for Christina. She took it back further and I don’t know any mainstream singers that would take it that far, especially with blues not being as marketable as doing the same ol’ 60s, 70s soul album.

    I love how people like to throw in the “is she even relevant?” Christina is still getting asked to perform at big events like Hope For Haiti, Grammy Nomination Special, etc. without having to overexpose herself and without having any new material. Relevant is not being in people’s faces 24/7 and she’s done quite a few collaborations as well. I know JT seems more relevant because he usually collaborates with mainstream artists like Madonna and Rihanna, but Christina has collaborated with The Rolling Stones (only pop singer to perform with them at their last concert), Tony Bennett, Elton John and Andrea Bocelli and she wasn’t the one that had to ask them like Bey or GaGa. The legends always ask Christina. Aretha Franklin and her were even working on a song together for Aretha’s 2008 duets album, but they didn’t finish the track in time. I know people want to hear dance music from her, so you might just get that this era. Although she’s worked with Goldfrapp, Sia, Ladytron, Switch, M.I.A., Santigold and Sam White, she’s also worked with Tricky Stewart, Ester Dean, Toby Gad, Claude Kelly and Polow Da Don on this album. She will have the perfect balance of experimental songs and commercial songs.

    I just talked to someone on Christina’s team and they said the album will be out in may. And her management has stated to various websites that they are all rdy to go just waiting for the correct time to press the go button.

    As I said before and the stans tried to spook me – Christina is one of the laziest artists I mean what is the fucking hold up. The longer she waits the more competition she is going to have now is the time while Beyonce is on break. Oh well. She WAS one of the biggest female artists but not anymore.

    The problem with B2B isn’t that it was a bad album exactly. It just didn’t need to be a double disc album.

    There was too much filler. If she had trimmed the fat and just gave us 12 or 13 really hot tracks (“Ain’t No Other Man”, “Slow Down Baby,” “Hurt,” “Nasty Naughty Boy,” “Candyman” were really hot tracks) B2B would have been a better recieved album, because it had some FIRE tracks.

    But she made it a double disc and put in a lot of crap, which sort of took away from the good stuff in the album

    BTB was a great album im my opinion. Understand was one of my favorites as well as Slow Down Baby, On Our Way, Still Dirrty and Save Me from Myself.

    I hope Bionic tops BTB though.

    I’m REALLY excited about the project. There is one thing that’s confusing me, and I’ve only started to notice it quite recently. Where has people’s respect gone? The random negativity that I’ve read on this and many other blogs is unsettling to say the least. Who cares if you don’t like an artist, who cares if you’re no longer checking for their music… but why do you feel the right to insult those around who have a different view from your own? Hooray for freedom of speech, but this is taking it too far. People have no fear anymore so they feel they can say whatever they like with anonymous pride. Does anybody stick with an artist for more than a year or are our attention spans really that short these days? To think that artists such as Christina, J.Lo, Usher and the countless other artists who have suffered push backs are washed up and have nothing more to give is childish. Someone above calls Christina lazy for not putting the album out, but she’s probably one of the hardest working people out there. A perfectionist. Give these people a chance and throw your support behind them.

I think that all of the die hard Christina fans are already dead, in a comma, or are so distracted by Lady Gaga’s shiny outfits that they believe that Gaga has replaced Christina entirely, (haha, NO way in hell). Looking forward to her new stuff, but I don’t know what to expect, so I’m not THAT excited.

    But unlike JT, I’m ok with the fact that she takes long breaks because she actually just lives her life and enjoys being a mother & wife while she’s on break, opposed to trying to stay in the spotlight and doing whatever mediocre thing you can think of that doesn’t require singing…smh

    Prophet the article said the album will be released in the Spring as in March 20th-June 21st. It was just under July and Beyond dates. Kelis’ was also under July and Beyond, but her album is coming out this spring as well. Numerous sources have stated Christina’s album is coming out in May.

    I know they had it in Spring but they also had it in “July and Beyond” so I’m not incorrect at posting this. Both dates were in the same article and it’s a new feature they did so they are probably up to date.

    We will see which one turns out to be true, but if it was due in Spring then why isn’t it listed under April, May or June?

    ok Christina is beyond lazy! She’s busy being a fulltime mother and wife, just got done filming her first movie and I too would be exhausted after I’m finished and would want to take at least month off to rest but that’s no reason to push the album back to July if it is true. New single in March= Bionic in May or New single in April= Bionic in June. It’s a nice thought to have a summer album to set the mood for the summer jams but Christina dear at least give us something else about the album, like a tracklisting perhaps so we can see how many songs you have on there, what you called the rest of the songs and at least the album cover too. You’re keeping way too much secret which is what’s driving people crazy. If you want a huge huge comeback and take the spotlight off Lady Gag-Me, Beyonce, Rih-Tard, Kesha etc….then now is the time to do it! Christina if your new song isn’t out either this month or April, consider me gone honey!
