Christina Aguilera’s American Music Awards Performance is the Hottest Mess of 2012

Christina Aguilera‘s long-awaited performance at tonight’s American Music Awards was completely and utterly amazing — for all the wrong reasons!

The unbreakable songstress cemented Lotus as the new Bionic with her gaudy trainwreck of a performance tonight, which was closer to a bad drag show than a big pop spectacle. She opened with the “Lotus Intro”, channeling Kylie Minogue by standing on a mountain of half-naked dancers and posing dramatically in chiffon against the gentle breeze of a wind machine. Like all of Aguilera’s clothes, the chiffon soon came off to reveal a bedazzled leather ensemble as the curvy reality star launched into “Army of Me” — undoubtedly one of the worst songs to come off her latest album. She awkwardly lumbered around the stage for a while, shouting and screaming instead of singing, until the performance reached its disastrous final act. “This is a celebration of all of us!” she bellowed as the clubby “Let There Be Love” kicked in and two bronzed gays rushed to her side — one tore off his clothes and gyrated in a pair of hot pink panties, while the other just queened out like crazy and posed. They were promptly replaced with a fat tranny, who popped her inflated breasts and did the splits in a giant wig. Streamers were soon raining down upon the colorful festivities, leaving Aggie to wrap up the performance as her small LGBT army raced off camera.

    I like pink, I like her music and she is a great performer and touring artist but as an artist at THIS point she is not all that, she’s recycling “I’m not dead” over and over and the fact that people keep buying it doesn’t make it any better…
    When she drops a fresh album that sounds like she’s made an effort and evolved I will be happy, not to say I don’t like her new music but she is not taking risks unlike Christina who has switched her sound up on every album.
    If she had promoted “Bionic” or “Lotus” they may had done ok (it’s still not too late for “Lotus”, even pink had a flop album.

    Awards shows these days don’t get me excited anymore at all… (music awards)… they give them out like candy to whichever hot right now artists turn up… even the Grammy’s.

    Don’t let me tell you how pissed I was when everyone was showering awards on Taylor and Gaga… I’d rather have the 5 Grammy’s Christina earned when they were worth something than the 16 Beyonce bought.

    You just pointed out everything unimportant. The only really bad Thing about her Performance was the fact that Intro was on playback and the beginning of Army of me was false as wild pig. The rest is just the way the show looked like, I think you, again, like many of critics, missunderstood the word criticism. Ist not finding everything bad and make it even worse, its supposed to be objective.
