Christina Aguilera starts recording new Stripped-inspired studio album

Bionic is officially dead. In a brand new interview with Instyle Magazine to promote Burlesque, Christina Aguilera labelled the disastrous Bionic as ”old news”, and revealed that she was back in the studio recording her next studio album, which would be inspired by her career-defining sophomore record Stripped.

“This is sort of left over from the Bionic phase,” said Christina while giving Instyle a tour of her wardrobe. “Now I’m actually in the studio recording the next album which has a different vibe, so this is already old news.”

”I think now we’re back to going a little deeper,” she continued, “in the vein where I recorded my Stripped record, which was very personal and more introspective.”

While Stripped chronicled Christina’s troubled childhood and transition into womanhood, her next album certainly isn’t going to be short on drama and personal struggles for inspiration. Since the release of Bionic, Aggie’s suffered a highly-publicized career implosion, a breakdown of her marriage, intense and often negative media attention, accusations of infidelity and lesbianism, and now she’s facing life as a single mother and having to completely rebuild her life on the brink of turning 30.

Yup, this album should be very personal.

    That is messed up, giving up on Bionic like that, I thought she said it was iconic and her baby, really what artist abandons their work like that, Kelis’s latest album, mega flopped,( even though she is altertanitive artist) but she is still releasing videos, because she cares about her fans and is a real artist who keeps it going and dosent care what people think about her, that is what a real artist does

    I guess she can comeback to that dark mood of Stripped since all the problems she have lately..also for the up-tempo tracks I guess she can do it to since she already do R&B/pop songs again in Bionic but I hope this ones will be less crappy songs.

    I know this was going to happen. How BIG/GREAT news for all of us, Christina is capable of throwing out Stripped re-build it and came out with much a greter album she knows that was 2002 and and this is 2011 she’s gonna rock the world again

    I think ‘Bionic’ is a unique record …. i just think it was pitched all wrong. If she had removed about 3 of the dumb tracks like ‘I Hate Boys’ and ‘Sex for Breakfast’, and promoted with less extreme sexuality, ‘Bionic’ would have been a totally different story …. just an opinion …

    However … all that being said … I respect Aguilera for her bold artistic vision, even though that sexuality was a bit over-the-top for me. Im sure this next Lp will be worth the wait … Plus ‘Burlesque’ looks amazing ….

    I think its a bit too soon to count Christina out …

    I think I’m the only one, or one of the few who wants Christina to make a Dance album. A few sessions with David Guetta, a few here and there with Max Martin and Dr. Luke, maybe even some with Stargate and RedOne. But obviously, I’d like her to record with Linda Perry, Sia and Samuel Dixon again. Their work on “Bionic” was outstanding. Ooh, and work with The Smeezingtons – a recreation of Sugababes’ “She’s A Mess” would be amazing! Expecially with her vocals.

    And with her distinctive, powerful vocal, she wouldn’t get lost among all the other dance-pop acts (i.e. Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Ke$ha).

    Her niche needs to be jazz old style pop, no rock/jazz/latin/rnb music-mesh of Stripped.
    No Dated-Old-Pop-Of-Two-Years ago Bionic.
    Just stick to Back To Basics sound and she should gain back her career.

    I think what Christina needs to do now is pull a Taylor Swift. I think she should write at least some songs herself. She should get herself in the mood and start writing in a corner by herself. You never know what could come out of that. Then her songs will be REALLY relatable when she’s not writing with some songwriters who just wanna make some money with her.

    I want this to be a soul-baring record. I really want her to do well again.

    It’s how the same who wanted her to flop are now hoping she’ll be fine.

    But Xtina is a queen. I think she needed a flop album to focus on good music instead trying to pull a Madonna or Jenna Jameson 2.0

    She will be fine.

    Im kinda disappointed that xtina gave up on bionic. I thought it was an amazing album. It showed a fun side of her. Someone who was trying to break out of her shell and have some real fun. I am glad though that she isnt going to let her bad sales at bionic stop her from making another album. Stripped was definitely an amazing album and i hope this new album will definitely bring her back on top.

    Hate the fact that it took a flop for her to not make us wait 4 years. ANYWAY I am beyond excited & extremely impatient. Can’t wait to hear more about ugh omg so happy :) Hope her next album does really good & I’m buying 2 copies when it comes out. I loved “Bionic” though…
