Christina Aguilera postpones Bionic tour until 2011.

Earlier this month when Christina Aguilera announced she would hit the road in July for her North American Bionic tour it felt a little too soon and rushed, so it’s comes as no big shock to learn that the singer has now postponed the tour until 2011.

In a statement sent out by Live Nation, the futuristic mama announced that the tour was moved due to her commitments to her new album Bionic (due June), and her upcoming feature film debut in Burlesque (opening November).

“The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” the statement read.

Why they even announced this in the first place when they already knew about Aggie’s grueling schedule is beyond me.

Whilst Aggie’s fans are most likely to be disappointed at missing out on the raunchy scream-a-thon, it’s opening act Leona Lewis who will take the news the hardest, as she’ll now have to rely solely on welfare cheques to pay back her label all the money they lost on Echo.

    I’m glad she cancelled it, maybe that means Leona will get into the studio this summer and make album number 3 and have it out by March or April next year.

    lol at the leona comment! Im pretty expecting this to happen. How in the hell can she tour when the album and the movie is still unreleased, and she have a family to care. Im happy that her tour will be next year because i want her to really rehearse and prepare so that she can make another spectacular tour. Please aguilera! Leave leona to your tour! Add janelle monae instead!

    The album then dropped out of the charts and produced no other hits.

    It flopped lol.

    but yes I knew this was waay too rushed and I think they were hoping to make the quick buck with this tour, but I think they’re seeing longevity with the album and want to extend it. hopefully this means even more promo with future singles, Burlesque, then THE BIONIC TOUR!!!!

    yeah I would think it’d be better to release an album once the fans have become familiar with it. so 7 more months for her to tour…. that’s kinda long in the pop music world, especially for the right now, make a profit, hit it while it’s hot; you know music fans are fickle. Hopefully she’ll play a few shows, award shows, etc between then. Singer turn actress is always risky, hope it goes well for her.

    postponed aka canceled due to poor ticket sales. She knew what her schedule was like, and the tour plans was the one of the first things she announced. Not buying the excuse hon!

    according to the movie blogs christinas new movie is being released in november because the studio is hoping to get her and cher noticed for the 2011 oscars (christina for best actress/ cher for supporting)

    thanks for not speculating that she cancelled it cuz of poor tickets sales… it very respectable of you thanks :) cuz thats impossible to tell the ticket were only on sale to the general public for 2 days… she simply over scheduled her tour… with the movie and the cd just coming out this was the best thing to do… i would rather wait and let the cd grow on me and as have Christina 100% instead of a mess thrown together show that is rushed! Thanks agin proph for going against the normal blogger and stating that she postponed the tour instead of canceling it!

    And no worries Cory. Low ticket sales never crossed my mind because when she postponed it it immeadietely made sense to me.

    Even if it did have poor ticket sales it would be understandable since she only has one single out that flopped, and has been out of the game for a while. The bionic tour is DEF the kind of thing that should start in 2011 once the album has been out and the movie has hit theatres, then it would be a big success and help her ride out the album.

    And this isnt shade but she doesnt even know if this era (album and movie) will flop or not, so she should wait to see how she does before going on a full scale tour.

    Starting the tour in july was just INSANE. I cant believe it was even announced. She needs the year to work on the tour to make sure it snatches the wigs from other big tours like Pink and BeYawnce.

    You may not know this but US isn’t the only music market in the world. Leona has her own UK arena tour so she isn’t gonna have to rely on welfare for anything. I wonder if you will be so cynical about “Aggie” once her album flops, lol. You are so biased.

    I love Leona, yes she is boring but she is an absolute sweetheart so dnt be mean prophet. Echo songs were nice but all souned the same just no standout, her label needs 2 get their shit together n give da girl some variety.
