Chris Brown ready to “Pass Out” over poor first week sales

It looks like Chris Brown’s new album Graffiti will be unable to meet its first week sales predictions of 150k, with HitsDoubleDaily now reporting that the Graffiti will sell between 95k-100k.

The young singer is no match for Billboard queen Susan Boyle, who’s predicted to sell another 600k of her debut I Dreamed a Dream which will bring her total sales close to 2 million.

If the predictions are on target then Breezy will fail to come close to ex-girlfriend Rihanna’s 180k for Rated R, but it should comfort him to know that her album has almost fallen out of the top twenty in it’s second week.

I’m a fan of Chris Brown as a person but I don’t think his album is any better or any worse than Rihanna’s — they’re both decent, but nothing special.

Keep an eye out for Breezy’s third single “Pass Out” with Eva Simons, which will be released to pop whilst “Sing Like Me” gets sent to urban. Check it out below.

I can’t stand the cheap generic dance sound of “Pass Out” and I’m still shocked at how the no-hit-wonder Eva Simons scored a feature on Breezys album. “Sing Like Me” is so much better.

I was hoping he would at least get 150k..

i bought the album and its really good

if you havnt bought it and downloaded it illegally go buy the album its only $10

  • Sha

“sing like me” is still going to be released but to urban radio, while this pop tragedy is being released to pop radio.

  • Darwin

I think Eva sings way too little in the song.

And Proph at this point, Brown & Simons are both nobodies lol

Is he just gonna release every song on that flop album as a single? Ain’t nothin’ gonna work, woman beater! Ho, have a seat.

  • Tohamy

glad to know that american audience still know how to appreciate real talent and music… viva susan : ) lol

  • Robier

AWWWW ‘PURE’ AMERICA…. GOTTA LOVE IT.

  • den

    That’s disappointing. I guess it’s expected.
Although he should have performed more and had less Rihanna related interviews.

  • D

THIS ALBUM IS TERRIBLE SO THESE LOW NUMBERS COME AT NO SHOCK. AND WTF IS THAT NOISE HE CREATED WITH EVA SIMONS?! A BLOODY MESS..A MESSY SONG FOR A MESSY ALBUM

  • Baila Holara

im not really interested in his music, and this was bound to happen after rihanna-gate. i guess he could hit the big numbers again in an album or two, after he wins back his fanbase.

  • goons

wow, susan is a beast…i am not convinced by the chris sales and will wait for the official numbers…it seems like from the article, they did not get ALL the sales figures from ALL the stores as they clearly specify it in the arcticle…i believe it coz to me this does not seem right as not only is he number 2 on the itunes, he has sold out in a lot of stores nationwide and jive is actually restocking as we speak..unless those cd’s are magically disappearing from the shelves, these are not the right sales figures……lets not be hastly to call it a flop and relax a little…

now onto the single, ester was a no name and look what drop it low did for her..its not always about the star power that makes people like a song..personally i dnt mind eva and have seen her couple of times with silly boy on tv…chris always picks no names and i think that is his approach..he doesnt need an established artist to push him..he actually pushes them and they are cheaper btw lol…with regards to pass out..dnt mind it although it has a lot going on..some people seem to like it..sing like me is ok and yes better!!

  • Jason

Who would want to purchase an album created by a little boy who hits women? Shame is all i can say, his music has never been very good anyway.
People should try looking up good male artists like Tinchy stryder, Guvna B and Victizzle.

I disagree that Brown and RiRi’s albums are equally shitty. Hers doesn’t even have ONE standout track. You might contend that some are catchy, (in an annoying sort of way), but not catchy in an Umbrella or Hate That I Love You sorta way. They just have zero lasting impact, so I’m glad her shit bombed. Maybe she’ll learn her lesson and work a lil’ harder on her next CD. As for Beat-Her-Down’s album, I’m ashamed to say that not only is his better than hers, but it’s one of the best albums of the year. I guess I can understand why the blogger thinks it sucks, (he likes Whitney for God sake’s), but had this whole abuse scandal not gone down, critics and blogs would b praising it to high heaven right now. It’s like taking the autotuned-out dance/hip-hop sound from Kanye’s last album and combining it with the pop brilliance of Britney or Gaga. It’s fun, it’s fabulicious, and it’s different, (at least for him).

And I’m all for artists reinventing themselves with each CD, but RiRi’s is a reinvention with no purpose and no idea what the hell she thought she was trying to do. The only thing interesting about it is her unique voice, which to me sounds good no matter what. Without that, these new songs would be even more unbearably bad.

HYPOCRITES. PEOPLE TALK ABOUT CHRIS HITTING A WOMEN YET PRAISE THUGS FROM THE STREET WIT RECORD DEALS THAT WOULD KILL U WITHOUT A THOUGHT OR BETTER YET SUPPORT BIGGOTRY AND HOMOPHOBIC ARTIST. PEOPLE ARE TRUE HYPOCRITES

  • http://www.luke-hotmusic.blogspot.com Luke

    lol at no-hit-wonder :-D

  • Rap*

how can she fall out the top 20 when shes 16??? lol prophet

  • smh

its true according to billboard they say between 95-110k

  • ImHighPrice

It is disappointing if this is true but this album is truly a work of art and it’s a melting pot of all genres. But I do agree he should of did televised performances instead of interviews.

In related news…I seen this photo of this little girl getting her copy of “Rated R” autographed and I wanted to cry…Rihanna’s album is no where near suitable for the majority of her audience. At least, Breezy censored his album. Sad

Overlooking the fact that Proph just copied and pasted most of what Toya wrote  , I repeat, this is bad, really bad (Micheal Jackson).

But some of y’all are reaching. CBreezy’s album isn’t ALL that now. He only has about two or three really good tracks. Pass out is horrible, but I can see how the kidz will eat it up. It just seems like he’s trying to pull a “Ciara” (going pop), instead of just letting just come to him. His first two albums are so much better than this one.

If it’s true that he only sells 100k, it’ll just be because people are still throwing shade at him for him showing off his skills he got from Ike Turner University, by rearranging Rihanna’s face, instead of lackluster music.

  • jakub

    i hate to say it
but chris brown’s career is over
the album is gonna sell poorly
    and both singles flopped
it’s not even a “flop era”
    it’s flopping cuz of rihannagate
if he released this before that it would’ve done well regardless of how goood it is

  • Lamaj

How do they know what the sells would be its only been two days not even an entire week it released on dec 8

  • Duane

Rihanna cd is 10x better. She can release every song as a single excluding G4l but overall her album is going to pick up but chris she running out of singles he needs to take a nice break for two years than make a comeback were he’ll be appreciated

  • EL

Chris should have picked up on the momentum from Drop It Low and released the Deluxe Edition track with Ester Dean called I Love You. It’s catchy, radio-friendly and runs the line between the urban and pop sounds.

Just my thoughts. I should be applying for an A&R position at Jive. LOL.

  • JohnnyS

What do u mean how do they know the predictions @Goon and Lamaj? This happens for EVERY album! And just b/c it is sold out in some stores in various cities that means NOTHING! Ppl sound so stupid sometimes..arghh..

I must say i really did think he was going to do more then Riri…so im a little surprised.

  • http://facebook.com/adammc85 Adam

What’s in the past is in the past. Let’s not be ignorant by calling him a woman beater. No one was there and no one knows the whole story. Get over it.

  • http://GoChrisBrown. Vladimir

Look guys, everybody makes a mistake. Until now we dont real know what Rihanna have done to him in order to reacted in that away. Nonetheless, she sleeps around with alot of dudes. I did buy the cd over all is better than Rihanna who is trying to Beyonce so hard. This is time that we need to support them not tear them apart. U might have beater a girl in the past but u here being critical. Fuck all you.

  • melanie

Probably what happened they had the album but didn’t stock it on the shelves, and then when it was time for the numbers they were like O’h we have too many in distrubuiton and no one is buying it….Please, give me a break…I bet that’s what happened!

  • Jackson sneed

Anyone who says that hounding know what happened to Rihanna because you weren’t there is an idiot. All you have to do is look at the pics of her face to see what he did. No woman deserves to be beat and anyone who says it was because she slept around is an idiot as well
