Cheryl Cole signs US record deal with Interscope!
According to new reports, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has just inked a deal with Interscope Records to release her debut solo album 3 Words in the States.
The album will be released early next year, with the will.i.am featured “3 Words” serving as the first single.
I guess having friends in high places helps because it’s pretty obvious that she got this deal because of will.i.am, who produced a good chunk of her album and has been batting in her comer for years now.
Her album is absolute garbage. The first two singles “Fight For This Love” and “3 Words” are really good, but the rest of the songs are dreadful.
She’s not famous in America so people won’t buy her album off of hype like they have done in the UK. I don’t think she’ll be able to crack the States, it’ll be like when Victoria Beckham went over to America and nobody really cared.
I can’t deny her popularity though, or her ability to sell records in the UK. She’s currently got the #1 single and album, with “Fight For This Love” becoming the fastest selling single of the year there. Not to mention that the songs Youtube video already has almost 8 million views, and her performance on the X-Factor was the most watched episode in the series history.

‘Heaven’ is the only stand out track for me.
There’s also talk that she will be a judge on the US version of ‘The X Factor’ & did you know that Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud (the best vocalist of the group) has signed a US deal with Geffen records.
She’s pretty much guaranteed an American Idol performance with Simon Cowell involved. SO that could get her noticed. And with Will.i.Am on board…who knows.
if she does somehow break the US, i doubt she’ll return to Girls Aloud.
I wish it was Girls Aloud breaking in the US, and not Cheryl Cole.
Let’s see if she can fake another so called live performance in the US.
I don’t see how Cheryl & Alexander can both have number one albums & singles within such a short space of time. What are their actual sales compared to what Leona Lewis sold or years before?
remember the first time she released ‘fight for this love’ her sale were low so they gave her another release date after her xfactor pre-recorded performance.
Let’s not forget that very strong jordy accent, the fact she can’t sing
what’s so different about her that’s gonna make the US like her they have so many pop artist of their own already.
OMG i actually think her album pretty good and better than what i expected, wow proph, surprised. but heaven is the worst song. parachute and happy hour are good. but her contacts are from simon love not will.I.am i mean come on.
and yes i know will.i.am is with interscope but simon wants her to be huge, and he will put all the illuminaty, cult gathering, dirty money, hyping and talking he can to get her to the top.
I was hoping she would. Although I wish she would release “Fight For This Love” instead.
I am very interesting if she’ll be able to do even moderately well in the US. if the song can blaze the radiowaves then she’ll be fine, but I really wonder. maybe she’ll focus on her hotness haha.
I love “Parachute” too! good idea making that a single. that and FFTL are the only songs I’ve even heard from the project. good luck Cheryl! and I agree with whoever said that I wish it was Girls Aloud cracking the US not just her.

I honestly the the album is shockingly bad. I LOVE 3 words and I really like Fight For This Love, but the rest is just sooooo bad.
I’m actually shocked at how bad it is.
Fight for this love sold over 300,000 copies first week more than bleeding love and bad boys (218,000 & 134,000). FFTL was number one on itunes before her x factor performance due to the most pre orders in Itunes HISTORY!!! Within 2 week’s it’s almost sold as much as bleeding love sold in its whole run.

It’s a very solid POP album. People were expecting her to be more urban but it’s goal was to be a POP album, and it’s a great one at that
… those songs were great, at least. there were some trash songs on there too I suppose (like Stand Up… wtf WAS that)
she is nothing more than a fad, she makes Gaga look talented
