Cheryl Cole ready to record third album. Rihanna duet finally in the works?

UK darling Cheryl Cole, who is second only to Jodie Marsh in her beauty and grace, is already preparing to put the Messy Little Tears album era to bed in order to begin recording her third studio album.

“For me, it’s all about the British music scene right now,” she told Metro backstage at the BRITs. “I seriously can’t wait to get back into the studio now. I’m itching to start recording.”

“I really want to get into the studio and focus properly on doing something different and more edgy,” she later told the Daily Record. “I want to work with everyone at the moment. Music is great right now.”

There’s no other concrete info on the album yet, but it looks like that pesky Rihanna duet that’s been talked about forever may finally be happening in the near future. ”There could be wheels, there could be motions. We’ll see,” she said cryptically when pressed for details.

Meanwhile, Cheryl has shown what an intelligent lass she is by reportedly scrapping Messy Little Raindrops third single “Everyone”. Apparently she’s been working non-stop and doesn’t want to promote the song, and fears that it’ll flop. She’s probably right since her last single, that urination ballad “The Flood”, only reached No. 18 on the charts — making it the lowest charting single of her whole career.

As Cheryl plots her next musical move, her Girls Aloud bandmates Nicole Roberts and Sarah Harding are working on their own solo albums, and Nadine has split with her management.

  • Why So Pressed?

    Do NOT want.

  • Drb

Talent would be a good start

  • JayCred

As talentless as she is, her music is still undeniably catchy! The Flood was a horrible choice as a single though, love the lyrics and it as an album track but.. >>>

Yeah Yeah with Travie shouldn’t been the second single. Happy Tears for the third and final single.

Ah well, roll on third artistic album. LMAO.

  • JayCred

    should’ve* D’ah.

  • HateON

I have never known so little about a celebrity or their music and been so sick of seeing their face like I do with this lady.

  • samm

FUCKING GET BACK TO GIRLS ALOUD AND STOP TRYING TO “CRACK” THE U.S BITCH YOU GOIN NOWHERE!

  • nicphillips83

LOL like we didn’t see this coming! ‘Messy little Piss stains’ is an awful album! :D

  • Adam

She just can’t get it exactly right. 3 Words was ok but not dancy enough, and Messy Little Raindrops was more dancy, but not in the tight way. Just work with RedOne Cheryl or Dr. Luke. Yea she’ll be a sellout but it is not like she is a well respected artist now.

Excited for Sarah Harding’s solo, even before I really knew who Girls Aloud were I had a feeling that the blond one (Sarah) would go solo and do well.

omg that dreadful messy raindrops – god that was robably the cheapest sounding record ever… smart cookie – one suggestion luv find some producers and writers that can actually write good songs. At least if she does something with rihanna James Fauntleroy
could pen her a tune… speaking of which he’s been writing songs for the saturdays new record:

  • Typical!

Think the single your talking about Proph is Everyone not Everbody but im plucking at straws-The Flood should have not been a single at all-everyone said and i hardly heard it on radio or hear her perform it live. I think Live Tonight should have been a single and even Amnesia has a little Rihanna vibe-if she did a good video to that, colourful, sunny, with some outdoor choreography it would have been ok.

  • True

the question is this is she going to perform LIVE in the US? we will have to wait & see

  • Jack_In_The_Box

Hahhahahahaha, nice goofy photo-op of that no talent lip syncing twat from the UK. HOT…Azzz…mess!! The US will just piss her down. Kick her to the curb. She’s Cher Lloyd’s effing mentor for fuuuck’s sake. No credibility at all.

Cheryl Cole is an amazing beacon of light in a shady shady industry, her second record was a fuckin disaster but she proved she could sing and had the songs with the first. Fight For this Love – Parachute – 3 words- Promise This – good songs. The production was really bad throughout and that hasnt changed with this record – they need to think about some better producers this time around – Maybe Stuart Price? Paul Epworth? The Smeezingtons? Chris Braide? Fraser T Smith? Fernando Garribay? Soulshock & Karlin? Toby Gad? Greg Wells? or will they stick to Will.I.am ? Time will tell….

  • MUSIC LOVER

That duet with Rihanna would be the perfect single for her to break into the U.S. with.

  • T*R*E*X

Cheryl Cole will swamp the other judges on AI and will be loved by all. She has that addictive personality and frankly it doesn’t matter what drivel she records the public lap it up like starved dogs. The only songs I actually like of hers are Dont Talk About This Love (First record Nikola Beddingfield singing) and Promise This (Adele version) love ya tho Chezza!

Well I’ll really need the third album to be GREAT. As much as I love this woman, girl needs better material. And she needs to stop working with will.i.am. Dude thinks he’s all that but he really isn’t.

And there isn’t anything else single-worthy left on MLR after all.. But then I’ll suppose her third album will be her first US album? The X Factor (US) is starting when? Oh well. Would be a great platform to showcase herself of course. She’s got Simon Cowell wrapped around her pretty little finger. :)

  • Cazzie

    She needs more dance/electro pop.

She needs better songs. It’s not her voice, it’s the songs.

She really needs to work with big US producers. RedOne, Dr Luke, Max Martin, Fernando Garibay… then with the right material, and lot’s of dancing, she’ll be a massive star in the US.

  • marcie

@Cazzie She was working with US producers – Will.I.am, Wayne Wilkins – she actually needs to work the likes of Paul Epworth, Chris Braide, Fraser T, Taio Cruz, Chase n’ Status, Rusko blah blah… Her material is just not hot enough. Britney’s record is amazing, but dont forget all that Dr Luke & Max Martin did was exec produce, all these cool cats over the way actually gave the record its edge. Its not generic. I would say american producer wise Benny Blanco for sure, maybe Cataracts?

  • Cazzie

    @marcie
Wayne Wilkins is British and will.i.am is a good producer, but not a good song writer…

I’m still annoyed we will never hear Cheryl’s ‘Break Your Heart’, so she can work with Taio.

What I’m basically saying is…she needs better material, not the shit she’s being given recently…

  • marcie

@Cazzie, agreed terrible songs, she needs much much better songs. Hopefully her people will be more smart in the US and pick better, as for Wilkins, I never really heard of him before, I just assumed he was from here.

  • Adam

Could not agree more with Cazzie’s comment about the producers. I say Cobra Starship releases “What Happens on the Dancefloor” as a single in the US, and replace Alexandra Burke with Cheryl.

  • Cazzie

@marcie, Benny Blanco is a good idea. Perhaps she should also be working with some of the guys Rihanna is working with. She has an RnB lite/pop sound which is probably closest to Cheryls and doesnt have a very strong voice either. Ester Dean and Stargate come to mind.

I’d personally like to see Cheryl ditch the RnB lite for a more mainstream pop sound. I think Promise This and FFTL are her best songs, and they are full on dance pop really.

Anyway, let’s hope her duet with Rihanna isn’t rushed otherwise they will choose a crap song and only release it in the UK. They need to make sure it is good enough quality to be released as a single in the US too.
