Charice set to release new Lady GaGa inspired dance single.

Singing sensation and Glee actress Charice is finally ready to follow-up her minor hit “Pyramid” with a new single – just don’t expect to find it on her self-titled album. Instead, she’s planning to record something brand new, which will follow the current dance sound that’s ruling US airwaves.

“We’re looking for a dance song faster than ‘Pyramid’ because dance is actually ‘in’ in the US right now. Something like Lady Gaga. We are really looking for a new song that is not part of the album…” [source]

No official word has been made yet on a re-release of Charice’s album, but that seems the most obvious choice, unless she’s planning to release a whole new album in time for her debut on Glee. I don’t see how she could possibly have the time to record a whole new album though, so my guess is a re-package and re-launch.

It’s a little sad that a vocalist like Charice needs to do dance music to potentially score a hit, but I could see it working as long as they don’t hide her voice under auto-tune. The Mariah, Whitney and Deborah Cox remixes of the 90′s were pretty epic, so she could definitely do something along those lines. Plus, “Pyramid” flopped on the Hot 100 after a brief peak at #56, yet managed to top the Billboard club charts thanks to some killer remixes, so Charice doing dance could be a good thing.

    Geez some of the comments. Jealous much, let’s hear your talent then? She’s obviously talented and she’s still young meaning her voice can only improve with time if she keeps working at it. This is only the beginning for her and she will make it. Nicole Scherzinger is half Asian, Amerie is half black, half Korean, and Cassie is also part Asian as well.

    If charice is such a good singer then why can’t she win a Grammy in America???? In fact, she was actually ignored during the artist selections. They didn’t even want to put her on the list to be selected. How sad is that?!!

    No Grammy nomination, an album and single that mainstream America ignored (both flopped out of the BB200 and Hot 100 charts. Charice doesn’t have that all important IT factor no matter what David Foster or whoever have to say about the matter. The (US) market has spoken, and it doesn’t want Charice.
