Carly Rae Jepsen Drops New Music Video, Hopes It Will Save Her Flop ‘Kiss’ Album

“Tonight I’m Getting Over You” is the latest single from Carly Rae Jepsen’s struggling Kiss album. I’m not crazy about the song, but it makes sense as a single. It’s got those big electro drops that radio likes and girls will enjoy singing along to the lyrics.
The music video dropped today. It shows Carly running around with some guy and trying to get over him or something. It’s fine and it works. I’m more interested to see how the song will do commercially, since Carly Rae has yet to produce a hit outside of “Call Me Maybe.” The iconic, legendary, flaw-free, divine and utterly spectacular “This Kiss” did nothing on the charts, and although “Good Time” was a hit, it’s more Owl City’s song than a Carly Rae Jepsen jam. The poor girl is still in that precarious position of needing to prove that she’s more than a one hit wonder, and so far, nothin’s happening.
It’s a shame to see Carly Rae struggling when her album is easily one of the better offerings to come out of the top forty pop diva fold in the past year or so. If everything keeps going to shit for Carly Rae, I’m just going to blame it on the original EP version of “Curiosity” not being released, as I have been for months now.
