Brown Eyed Girls officially begin recording new album

Two months after news surfaced that the world’s greatest girl group Brown Eyed Girls were in the early stages of preparing their next album, it’s been confirmed that recording for the highly-anticipated disc has now officially begun.

In case I need to spell it out to you, this means that your fave’s comeback is now completely irrelevant, and absolutely nothing else in music matters until Brown Eyed Girls return. Got it?

The wonderful news was confirmed by vocal director Wonj-han, who served as BEG’s vocal coach before their debut. It looks like he’s now reunited with the Queens of K-Pop for their comeback album, so I’m guessing the girls will be putting a strong focus on their vocals once again.

To excite you even further, Wonj-han recently worked with rising rookie group She’z, who have been impressing with their powerful vocal skills and are currently rising up the GAON chart with their debut single “My Way”.

With Ga-In’s new solo album coming soon, it’ll probably still be a while until we get the follow-up to last year’s flaw-free Sixth Sense, but just to know that BEG are officially recording is huge enough to start freaking out.

I need to calm down. Time to listen to “Lovemotion” and be slayed.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!! i LUV-LOOOOOOVE B.E.G.!! i like most of their discography and i think that musically there’s no better girl group on k-pop – and i’m not talking only about the vocals. each album or mini-album of them feels different not only from each other but from the rest of the k-pop sceneries, feeling more risqué at times.

i mean, what is the sudden disco heaven showdown on sixth sense? it feels like studio 54 but with dramatic changes and shifts that skip the skin and go straight into the veins – MEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! you simply cannot listen to it with volume down

Yep, other girl groups need to hibernate for a while. Because The Brown Eyed Girls are gonna pwn them so hard, it would be painful and unbearable to see.

    BEG >>>>>> everything else

  • YourYG Bias

BEG only gets proper recognition with veteran K-fans. Sadly, Korean charts don’t recognize the wonderful music that BEG does put out. I wanna see them win one.

Damn, I need to blog up my BEG altar.

  • oppatalkstoomuch

lol uhm beg is extremely popular in korea. abracadabra was a HIT back in the days and sixth sense achieved an allkill and won numerous awards so idg your point.

  • JammySmoochie

Sorry, but I though Abracadabra and Sixth Sense did well on K-charts. And even Cleansing Cream, the follow up to Sixth Sense. Although I agree, new Kpop fans seem to not notice BEG which is… perplexing to say the least.

  • YourYG Bias

Oh, sorry. I meant K-fans as international k-pop fans ._. Woops… Internationally, they deserve more attention.

I agree with the fact that BEG does well on K-charts. They do peak at number 1 and Abra was such a game-changer, however I felt like they should have stayed longer than a measly three weeks on top if Korea responded so well to the song. I mean it was a controversial MV and a well-liked tune that garnered an explosive reaction to say the least.

    YASSSS MY BODY IS READY!
    And yes LOVE MOTION SLAYS!

Well Chart wise they’ve always done well. Solo and as a group. I do get what you mean though. BEG’s music is pretty complex and foften illed with symbolism so sometimes it takes more than one listen before fully “getting” them.

I’m so exited for this! They always seem to start uploading old videos on their YouTube channel before a comeback, and it’s happening. The officialBEG twitter said that they aren’t making us wait another 2 years for a comeback, and said it will be far quicker. I honestly thing anywhere from September to October the album will be released. I think the album will have some songs with an upbeat tune & strong vocals and some ballads. I hope it’s comparable to Sound-G or Sixth Sense.

Sixth Sense received more digital downloads than Abracadabra, and was number 1 on Korean music charts, like Abracadabra. All of the songs on the album (except the intro and interlude songs, that still charted) were in the top 100, and had 3 songs in the top 5 (Sixth Sense – 1, Hot Shot – 2, Cleansing Cream – 4). The album reached number 2 on Korean album charts.
