Britney’s flawless new compilation album

Don’t ask me why they did it, but whichever lazy cokehead label exec gave Oops! I Did It Again: The Best of Britney Spears the green light deserves a deep-throated blowjob from me for putting together 2012′s most amazing album.
The 16-track compilation, which is already out in some countries and drops in the US on June 26th, contains a muddled and mismatched collection of material from Godney’s first four studio albums, and for some reason, Circus. The bizarre tracklist includes a couple of ancient singles, the odd bonus track and unreleased tune, and a big bunch of random album cuts — each one containing ZERO flaws.
- 1. Oops!…I Did It Again
- 2. …Baby One More Time
- 3. I’m a Slave 4 U
- 4. Born to Make You Happy
- 5. Cinderella
- 6. Brave New Girl
- 7. The Hook Up
- 8. Don’t Hang Up
- 9. One Kiss from You
- 10. Anticipating
- 11. What It’s Like to Be Me
- 12. My Baby
- 13. Out from Under
- 14. You Got It All
- 15. Showdown
- 16. That’s Where You Take Me
Cinderella! The Hook Up! That’s There You Take Me! One Kiss From You! Even “My Baby” made the cut, forcing those so-called Britney ‘fans’ who shat on the defining baby ballad the first time around to re-listen to it again and appreciate Godney’s deep side (Tie-nee haaands).
But as much as I love all of those song, the thing that excites me the most about this compilation is that it happens to include my two favorite Britney songs OF ALL TIME! The timeless classic “…Baby One More Time”, which to this day remains one of the greatest pop songs ever made, and the underrated and underappreciated “Don’t Hang Up”. The melancholy synth-pop ballad about lonely phone sex was first released as a bonus cut from the international edition of In The Zone, and still stands as one of Brit’s finest moments. The collision of sad and sexy captures everything that Britney’s about, while the production, a slice of futuristic R&B courtesy of Brian Kierulf and Josh Schwartz, must’ve had The Neptunes green with envy at the time.
Brian and Josh did a nice chunk of the brilliant Britney album, as well as In The Zone‘s “Brave New Girl” and Brit’s iconic Christmas anthem “My Only Wish (This Year)”. The Holy Spearit needs to get back in the studio with them, ASAP!
