Britney’s flawless new compilation album

Don’t ask me why they did it, but whichever lazy cokehead label exec gave Oops! I Did It Again: The Best of Britney Spears the green light deserves a deep-throated blowjob from me for putting together 2012′s most amazing album.

The 16-track compilation, which is already out in some countries and drops in the US on June 26th, contains a muddled and mismatched collection of material from Godney’s first four studio albums, and for some reason, Circus. The bizarre tracklist includes a couple of ancient singles, the odd bonus track and unreleased tune, and a big bunch of random album cuts — each one containing ZERO flaws.

  • 1. Oops!…I Did It Again
  • 2. …Baby One More Time
  • 3. I’m a Slave 4 U
  • 4. Born to Make You Happy
  • 5. Cinderella
  • 6. Brave New Girl
  • 7. The Hook Up
  • 8. Don’t Hang Up
  • 9. One Kiss from You
  • 10. Anticipating
  • 11. What It’s Like to Be Me
  • 12. My Baby
  • 13. Out from Under
  • 14. You Got It All
  • 15. Showdown
  • 16. That’s Where You Take Me

Cinderella! The Hook Up! That’s There You Take Me! One Kiss From You! Even “My Baby” made the cut, forcing those so-called Britney ‘fans’ who shat on the defining baby ballad the first time around to re-listen to it again and appreciate Godney’s deep side (Tie-nee haaands).

But as much as I love all of those song, the thing that excites me the most about this compilation is that it happens to include my two favorite Britney songs OF ALL TIME! The timeless classic “…Baby One More Time”, which to this day remains one of the greatest pop songs ever made, and the underrated and underappreciated “Don’t Hang Up”.  The melancholy synth-pop ballad about lonely phone sex was first released as a bonus cut from the international edition of In The Zone, and still stands as one of Brit’s finest moments. The collision of sad and sexy captures everything that Britney’s about, while the production, a slice of futuristic R&B courtesy of Brian Kierulf and Josh Schwartz, must’ve had The Neptunes green with envy at the time.

Brian and Josh did a nice chunk of the brilliant Britney album, as well as In The Zone‘s “Brave New Girl” and Brit’s iconic Christmas anthem “My Only Wish (This Year)”. The Holy Spearit needs to get back in the studio with them, ASAP!

I don’t even know… I can’t. So free of all flaws. Showdown for first single. Let’s start a twitter campaign!

RCA are so tacky. First that horrid remix album that nobody asked for and now this? I have better Britney mix CDs I made when I was 10.

  • simonseziam

hahaha! Spot on, Proph – I would gladly join you in falling to my knees for whichever label executive put this through – AMAZING!

What in the Cash Cow Hell is This?

  • Trish

    don’t hang up is amazing!

i love the chorus and production. the verses and vocals could use some work, and then the song would be flawless.

There are rumours she’ll be releasing a promo video for Showdown around the same time as the X Factor premiere *shaking and crying*

  • http://twitter.com/Fantasy715 Fantasy715

The tracklist is indeed good (although not perfect without the perfect Breath On Me) but I can’t understand the reason of this compilation, even more right after the horrible second remixed album.

  • Hay

I LOVE anticipation, and what it’s like to be me!! Yes to this, I wish they would have shot a different/new album cover…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Crazy-Charlie-Platard/100001006264954 Crazy-Charlie Platard

If this album dont have at least ONE VIDEO… I’m not buying it!!… And I think I’m not the only one

  • http://twitter.com/TheHomosocial The Homosocial

I’m usually modest but that record exec, yep it was me…

How do I claim my complimentary blowie??

  • http://twitter.com/TheHomosocial The Homosocial

Ps – where is Touch My Hand, it would have slotted on perfectly with this track listing.

  • ARYO

why are they in a hurry? they can release it after x factor airs

  • http://twitter.com/ericyumyum I’m with Beyonce

    I love it!

  • mimifan

weird. have not heard half of the list… but then i am not her music fan really, i just love her for being britney.

  • ARYO

i wish she would replace out from under and brave new girl with… breathe on me and i will be there

  • Popblock

This is not even a real album by RCA, its an attempt to cash in at the bargain bin by some division of Sony. Most of these songs have cheap licensing rights which is why its full of album tracks. I can’t be happy with this because it’s a fucking eye sore in her discography.. people should not take this seriously.

  • http://twitter.com/ThatBoyLuke Luke

Is this SERIOUS?! omfg…. “The singles collection” was too soon and this is a joke… SMH, I love Britney but RCA need to get it together.

  • http://twitter.com/Andy4B Andy4B

This post is filled with flawlessness! Damn you outdid yourself Prophet;) But is anyone really serious about there being a single off this album? LOL SOOOO not gonna happen.

  • http://twitter.com/ThatBoyLuke Luke

This is so tacky… It’s obviously not something Britney chose to do or the artwork would be new… This is just like when Virgin dropped that Best of Joss Stone album (yep bet you didn’t know it existed) and Island (Def Jam?) dropped that Utada compilation the same week she dropped her second singles collection SMH

  • http://www.facebook.com/thebLainekelley BLaine Kelley

why would they release a new video for these old ass songs?

  • http://www.facebook.com/thebLainekelley BLaine Kelley

LoL, thank you for being the voice of reason

  • themusicprophet

There’s obviously no way this is real lmao

  • http://www.facebook.com/thebLainekelley BLaine Kelley

this is just fuckin retarded. Labels throw shit like this out and then wonder why crap doesn’t sell. what’s the most units this thing is gunna move? 3,500 copies?!? LoL. is that even profitable?

this is like when Sony released that “Candy” compilation by

Mandy Moore back in 2005. just pointless and irrelevant.

“don’t hang up” is pure excellence, but i doubt this will introduce the song to anyone new since no one will buy this shit…

  • themusicprophet

I will say this … My sister works for an entertainment company in Los Angeles… Her boss was on Britney’s new “video” set two weeks ago… I thought it was a joke… Hmmm maybe there is something in the works ?

  • http://www.theprophetblog.net The Prophet

It is! It’s on iTunes and Amazon!

  • iAmAwesome

I’m a awful stan… like I just found out about this.

  • iAmAwesome

    Also they forgot “Radar.” -_-

  • http://twitter.com/joeysauer J▲EY

I can’t at some of the tracks included on this album. I mean “Born To Make You Happy” & “My Baby”?? Are those songs REALLY “The Best Of” Britney Spears? I’d certainly hope not or I’d be re-reviewing the “reigning pop princess” status her stans so generously often grant her with.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003135035271 Klaus Splendor

I think that “What U See (Is What U Get)” should have been included. Easily the hottest shit ever.

  • christinastherealtalent

Oh Lawd have mercy. Prophet it amazes me how you endore an u.talented nasal machine. Granted I’m an old school Britney fan but youre treating this as if its a full new album. Why would anybody buy a CD that contains songs they already have on other cds? Same thing with her 2nd greatest hits lp. Didn’t she release her first 4 yrs prior to that with only 2 albums released in between? Then pulled a christina and released the 2nd one to commemorate her 10 yrs in the industry. Britney needs to go away for a very long time and work on her act. i want the Britney back who used to get up on stage and shake that ass lile her career and life depended on it. And get off that damn conservatorship.

This is like Kylie Minogue before Light Years: compilation after compilation. Compilation of remixes, compilation of the best of 91-94, compilation of the best of the best of the best and stuff like that… pointless.
Usually record labels release these kind of albums to release artists from their contracts, they did it with Christina Milian, Mandy Moore and a lot more for example.

  • shady1

Hell I bet Christina’s will be the whole Bionic and Burlesque tracklistings cuz no one heard that shit lol

  • Hoochie

I’ll never forget when I saw that “Best of Christina Milian” compilation and thought to myself:

#1 Why the FUCK does this exist? Love this chick but srzly, just not

#2 Why is “So Amazin’” not comprising the whole tracklist, along with her few singles and maybe a couple random collabos?

But what you said just makes sense. I never knew they’d release such pointless / premature albums for that kind of reason. Thanks.

  • LA BABY!

    I HATE HER!!!!!

  • http://twitter.com/chuchoamezcua Chucho Amezcua

I bet Britney’s not even aware of this… This is the most random compilation ever.

  • Brandon

They have a ‘Best of Christina Milian’?

    DEATH.

  • Jenny

White trash needs to stop making flu-singing music
