Britney Spears hooks up with Darkchild for new album
Urban-pop producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins has confirmed that he’s in the studio working on new material for Britney Spears, and that the pair will go into the studio in January to record.
In the studio creating a smash for Britney right now!!! Got the call this morning!!! January we start!!!
The news comes after reports in the press that Britney’s label were looking at a May release for the singers seventh studio album.
Other confirmed producers so far include Fernando Garibay, Danja, Sean Garrett and David Guetta.
Britney’s really going full steam ahead with this! By the looks of things she’s rapping up her Australian tour, taking a month off for Christmas, then going right back into the studio.
Brit and Darkchild haven’t collaborated together since 2001 on the Britney album, but he did produce “Telephone” for her Circus LP which later went to Lady GaGa & Beyonce.
Now let’s take a look back to when Britney was at the peak of her hotness and working with Rodney in the video for “Overprotected [Darkchild Remix]“. This clip is one of my personal faves!

Thought Darkchild’s Pucker Up/Kiss My Swag (Ciara) was for Britney, guess they didn’t like his songs.

@ Den, I think that was just a rumor, Pucker Up really isn’t Britney’s style.
As for Darkchild I’m not a huge fan, I like Pucker Up but I feel like it kinda sounds a lil like Piece Of Me and I thought PCD’s When I Grow Up was a mess!

Pucker Up WAS meant for Britney. The demo leaked, and it has a different opening for it and it’s about Britney.
I would love for Britney to hook back up with the neptunes. That would be all that. I love it. Darkchild does alot of work but I think he doesn’t get enough credit for the work he does. Like it’s taken him a grip to earn the respect. I’m interested to see what else she cooks up with Sean Garett as well.

I think the song is probably gonna get cut from the album, I hope Darkchild really creates a smash and I have a feeling this is going to be a really epic album that shows all the other bitches how really good music is done.
Let’s just hope she does some promotion this time, would be nice to see more Britney performances on tv.
